Realize Your Musical Ideas with World-class Sounds

The Korg Pa1000 Professional Arranger keyboard combines your favorite Korg arrangement functions with the best features of their flagship Pa4X arranger. With more than 420 styles, 1,700 sounds, and 600MB of storage for your own samples, the Pa1000 is ready for any style of composition. The 7" TFT color touchscreen makes navigation simple, and also offers access to KAOSS-style MIDI and effects control for hands-on creative inspiration. And with a mic/line/instrument input with studio-quality TC-Helicon effects processing, the Korg Pa1000 Professional Arranger is a powerful workstation for modern composers.

Defined Nuance Control for expressive performances

Using the Pa1000's three assignable switches and its four-way joystick, you can tap into Korg's Defined Nuance Control (DNC) to add realism to your performances. Thanks to DNC, you can make sax solos growl, mimic changing embouchure of a trumpet, add breath sounds to harmonica, and much more. When it comes to re-creating the nuances of a real performer, Defined Nuance Control produces impressive results.

Your ideal partner for practice and songwriting

You'll have access to more than 420 musical styles and 1,700 instrument sounds with the Pa1000. Some musicians at Sweetwater enjoy using arrangers like the Pa1000 as practice partners — just enter your chord progression and arrangement and you're able to practice along with a full accompaniment, not just a metronome click. Arrangers are also a great tool for quickly trying a new progression or melody idea in different musical styles, complete with realistic drums, percussion, and instrumentation.

An efficient way to compose audio for video

Everything mentioned above is a huge benefit for composers too — when you need to create a two-minute music spot for a video segment, a fast efficient workflow is key. With the Pa1000 you'll be able to produce stellar results in an intuitive, musical fashion. From ambient soundbeds and acoustic duos to heavy metal soundtracks and film scores, the Korg Pa1000 Professional Arranger will deliver.

It's a great arranger keyboard

The PA1000 plays and sounds great. It has been completely reliable for me. I read the other reviews that were having issues but that hasn't been my experience.
I had it for awhile and then decided to upgrade to the PA4x76 for the keybed and extra keys.
I decided to leave the heavier PA4x in the studio and take the 1000 when playing out. The 1000 is handier, simpler and sounds identical to my ears.
In the end I could of got by with just the 1000.
A neat feature I like is the ability to seamlessly connect a midi keyboard to the arranger via USB without using a DAW. In fact I don't even own a computer. The Korg arrangers do the heavy lifting. I bring a Novation SL61Mk3 to my shows. It makes for two light keyboards on a double stand, it's very convenient.
I really couldn't be happier at this stage in my life.

Great keyboard!

I cannot be more satisfied with this keyboard. Nice looking, easy to transport, hundreds of great sounds, realistic drums and guitars (lead and chords), hundreds of styles ready to use, 4 rythms per style + other variations such as 3 intros, 3 endings break, 4 fills, 4 pads, etc. The microphone effects and harmonies are great for solo players, and much more to explore. Very worth it for the price.

Favorite board of all time

I've had a dozen or so boards over the years, including a Nord Stage 88, Yamaha XS7, Korg M3, a bunch of arrangers, etc. I like this board better than any of them.

I'm someone who Loves good quality on-board speakers. What a rich, lush sound these speakers produce, plenty loud too. Major selling point for me.

The sound quality is way beyond anything I've had before. It's a very full sound, detailed, in almost every category. Super punchy drums, love the Bass, pianos, etc. EPs are not bad, but not on a par with the rest of the sounds. I have a piano sound dialed in that I use most of the time. Wow, just wow, layered with a pad it's so satisfying. You only get 3 sounds on top and 1 on bottom if you're splitting the keyboard (actually, more complex than that, but...), but each of the sounds are so well done you don't need to layer 8 sounds to sound good. Overall, the sound is more 'produced' than any board I've had before, meaning it's ready to be used, as opposed to workstations that typically need you to assemble the raw pieces.

The front panel controls for the microphone input is fantastic, use it all the time. Instead of reaching to the back of the board to control the volume of the mic, you have access on the front panel to on/off, volume, fx amount (great sounding reverbs, delays, etc.) as well as a button that switches the vocal harmonies on and off. Absolutely love having hands on control of these lovely vocal enhancements. Vocalists love singing with me, this board shows off their voice well.

The keybed is the weakest link for me. Decent enough, but it does get harder to play as you approach the fall board, which can slow me down. My only real complaint about this board. That and how idiosyncratic / convoluted it can be to do things. Not as user friendly as I'd hoped.

I've had a half dozen arranger boards over the years primarily for the speakers, rarely used the arranger functions. Not so with the Pa1000. It seriously sounds like you've got great session musicians as a backing band. I still prefer to play most of the parts myself, but I find it to be an excellent learning tool, learn to play along with many many different styles of music, and have a drum machine that can be setup for 4 variations.

AFAIK, the Pa1000 is 95% the same as the Pa4X in regards to sounds and styles. And the Pa4x is much heavier and doesn't have these great built-in speakers. The only reason I see for shelling out more cash for the Pa4X is a better keybed, 76 key option, more sampling memory and more controls.

The tilt up screen is super useful, playing in bright sunlight it goes from being unreadable to decent with the titled screen.

Overall, just love this board, and for me the upgrade from the Pa700 is worth it. The Pa700 is an amazing board in it's own right, gives you most of what the Pa1000 offers, but love the Pa1000 front panel mic control, the aftertouch, doubling the sample memory, etc., the extra cost was worth it for me.
