|Sweetwater Hires 4 New Employees|
| Sweetwater, the third-largest music instrument and pro-audio retailer in the U.S., recently hired four new employees, including a new Sales Manager, two new Sales Engineers, and a Hospitality Coordinator, bringing total employment to more than 600, including more than 200 Sales Engineers. Two of the new employees have moved to Fort Wayne from outside Indiana.
A native of Northern California, Doug Hills started with Guitar Center's store operations team in Seattle in 1999. Over the next 14 years he held numerous jobs including sales person, Sales Manager of multiple locations, Operations Manager, Store Manager of multiple locations, District Manager of the Northwest, and for the last five years District Manager of New York and Connecticut, including Guitar Center's flagship Manhattan store.
Sales Engineer Phil Potts is from Fort Wayne and is known in the area as an outstanding guitar player who has been on the road for over ten years with local and regional bands. When not on the road, he has worked at The Guitar Infirmary in Auburn.
Sales Engineer Jake Griel is from Omaha, Nebraska, and moved here from Minneapolis, where he recently graduated from the Institute of Production and Recording of the Minneapolis Music School with an Associates Degree in Audio Production and Engineering.
Hospitality Coordinator Renee Hockemeyer joins the staff in the Downbeat Diner. She is a Fort Wayne resident and holds an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from Ivy Tech and a Bachelor's in Hospitality Management from IPFW. She has studied cooking in Italy, Spain and France. For the past three years she managed the main dining room at Fort Wayne Country Club.
