Sweetwater Hires 12 Employees
Music Technology Retailer Adds Seven Sales Engineers

Fort Wayne, IN, June 26, 2012 - Sweetwater, the third-largest music instrument and pro-audio retailer in the U.S., recently hired 12 new employees.

Sales Engineer Nick Bobay is a Fort Wayne native and one of the first graduates of the new IPFW/Sweetwater Music Technology Program. He has served as a music minister for his church, worked at Dave's Music Den, and interned at Sweetwater in the studio. Nick plays multiple instruments, but he's most at home with percussion.

Sales Engineer Joel Helton is another graduate from IPFW's inaugural Music Technology Class. Joel hails from Columbia City and has worked extensively with recording and video while at IPFW. His passion is orchestral scoring using Native Instruments.

Sales Engineer Kalalau Cantrell is from Hawaii, but has spent the past five years in Muncie obtaining a music technology degree from Ball State University. He worked for the university's central recording services and spent two summers on the production crew at Interlochen Center for the Arts. His main instrument is piano.

Sales Engineer Peter Van Horn is a recent graduate of Kent State's music technology program. A native of Canton, Ohio, Peter previously worked in management for a window-cleaning service. He is both a guitarist and a vocalist, and also served an internship here in our studio.

Sales Engineer Noah Riehl grew up in Goshen, Indiana. He attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, pursuing a degree in music business. Noah then moved to Fort Wayne to transfer to IPFW, where he is finishing up his degree on a part-time basis. He is a percussionist by trade but also plays piano and guitar.

Sales Engineer Anthony Longano is from the South Brunswick and Dayton, New Jersey, area. He attended William Patterson University for audio production before finishing his audio education at SAE in New York City. He previously worked in sales at Sam Ash. He is a jazz guitarist.

Sales Engineer Zach Bailey is from Brookings, South Dakota, and is a recent graduate of the Music Merchandising Program at South Dakota State University. He is also a former Sweetwater studio intern and has served as an audio tech for the performing arts center at his university. He plays guitar and bass.

Maintenance Technician Stephen Libbing has joined the maintenance department part-time. Stephen is a recent graduate of Homestead High School and will be attending Indiana University in the fall. Stephen also works at Mike's Car Wash.

Service Technician Adam Friedley has joined Sweetwater as a Mac Install Tech. Adam worked for Sweetwater previously for four years as a PC Build. Since leaving Sweetwater, Adam has been working for Walmart Distribution in Inventory Control.

Security Officer Bill Hibben has a bachelor's degree in communications, with a minor in English literature. He also has an associate's degree in supervision from Purdue University. He served in the Indiana Air National Guard for seven years as an intelligence specialist. Most of his job history has been spent working in finance.

Administrative Assistant Maggie O'Connor has been promoted from Concierge to Assistant to VP of Marketing, Mike Ross. Maggie has worked for the past three years as Sweetwater's Concierge.

Concierge Julie Ratliff is a Fort Wayne native who spent the last six years working as a concierge at DuPont Hospital. Julie has an extensive retail background. Prior to her experience at DuPont, she managed all three Fort Wayne-area stores for the Mill Bakery. She also worked for 10 years in management with The Limited.
