Fort Wayne, IN, June 11, 2012 - Sweetwater Productions, the recording studio division of Sweetwater, the third-largest music instrument and pro audio retailer in the U.S., has hired Nashville producer/recording engineer Mark Hornsby as Director of Music Production and Artist Relations.

Sweetwater Productions Studio Manager and Chief Producer/Engineer, Chet Chambers, said, "We're thrilled to have someone with Mark's incredible talents and background as the newest member of our team. We were so impressed by what he brings to the table that we created this new position expressly to utilize his abilities and experience."

Working in concert with Chambers and the Sweetwater Productions team, Hornsby will be expanding the services available through Sweetwater Productions, as well as spearheading efforts to market Sweetwater Productions' world-class, Russ Berger-designed studios to recording artists across the country. In addition, Hornsby will help expand Sweetwater's educational offerings with master classes on recording, mixing, and mastering, Pro Tools training, and more. He will also pursue new opportunities for Sweetwater's state-of-the-art Performance Theatre and other areas within the company.

"I've worked in studios around the globe, and Sweetwater Productions' facilities are second to none in design and quality," Hornsby remarked. "I'm looking forward to bringing in high-level projects, working with national/indie recording artists, and exploring new opportunities for broadening the reach and capabilities of all of the company's amazing recording and performance spaces. Sweetwater Productions has incredibly talented engineers, producers, arrangers, and musicians on staff, and I believe that together we can offer artists a unique destination recording experience that is second to none."

A well-known producer, recording engineer, musician, writer, consultant, and technology expert, Mark Hornsby has years of experience in a wide range of aspects of the industry, including software design with IK Multimedia, product specialist and marketing consulting with Transaudio Group, and more. A partner in studios in Florida and Nashville, as a producer/engineer, his credits include Travis Tritt, King Crimson, Steven Curtis Chapman, New Found Glory, Rush's Neil Peart, Kevin Gilbert, Old Crow Medicine Show, The London Philharmonic, and many more.

"Mark brings so much expertise to Sweetwater Productions in so many areas," continues Chambers. "We're excited to welcome him aboard, and we are anxiously looking forward to great advances in our recording studio services and in our education programs with his help."
