Sweetwater Hires a Dozen New Employees, Nine to Its Sales Force
Sweetwater, the third-largest music instrument and pro audio retailer in the world, recently hired 11 new full-time employees, and one part-time employee. Eight are new Sales Engineers, seven of whom are from outside Indiana. The new hires bring total employment at Sweetwater to 360.

Sweetwater Founder and President Chuck Surack remarked, "In spite of the economic downturn, Sweetwater has continued to invest in its workforce, particularly in the sales area. With some indication that the economy is turning around, we are increasingly optimistic about the future of the music technology and instrument retail market, and the continued growth of Sweetwater."

Sales Engineer Jeff Arwady, from the northern suburbs of Detroit, has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music Composition from Central Michigan University. He has written scores for a number of independent films utilizing virtual instruments.

Sales Engineer Mike Soper, from the southern suburbs of Detroit, is a life-long musician who is self taught in digital recording. He spent twenty years in the risk management side of the insurance business in the automotive supply industry.

Sales Engineer Lynn Graber is an Auburn, Indiana native who has spent the past three years in Winter Park, Florida earning Associate and Bachelor degrees from Full Sail in Recording Arts and Music Business. He is also a drummer.

Sales Engineer Eddie Tighe is from North Platte, Nebraska and holds a degree in Audio Recording Technologies from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska. He
is a guitarist.

Sales Engineer Charlie Davis is from Peoria, Illinois. He has a BA in Music Business from Millikin University, where he served as manager of the school's recording studio. He is also a guitarist.

Sales Engineer Jorge Fernandez was born in the United States, but relocated here from Monterrey, Mexico, where he grew up. He is a graduate of the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. Jorge has worked in studios in Brooklyn, New York, and Boston as an engineer and studio manager.

Sales Engineer Andy Miller comes from Dayton, Ohio after many years in automotive sales for both Saturn and Toyota. He has played in a number of regional bands over the past twenty years.

Sales Engineer Patrick Schaefer is from Waterford, Michigan, though he spent the past year doing live sound in Utah. He is a graduate of Full Sail in Orlando in Recording Arts.

Sales Assistant Rox Berghoff has had a thirty-year career with Sears. She was most recently the manager of the Parts and Service unit in Fort Wayne.

Maria Salazar is the newest addition to the Downbeat Diner staff. She most recently worked for Parkview Field as a cook.

Receptionist Megan Browning graduated from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.

Part Time Shipping Specialist JJ Dorko just finished his first semester at Purdue University majoring in Computer Science.
