Massenburg Conducts Master Class for Sweetwater Staff

(Fort Wayne, Ind.) Recording icon George Massenburg paid a two-day visit to Sweetwater to provide in-depth training and information about his GML preamps, equalizers and dynamics processors. Sweetwater is one of a select few dealers in the country to represent GML products.

A highlight of Massenburg's stay was a "Master Class" session in Sweetwater's own recording studio that gave Sales Engineers the opportunity to work with the GML 8900 Dynamic Range Controller. Sales Engineers regularly train and evaluate gear in the studio, but having a recording legend such as Massenburg in the house made for a very special evening. It was the ideal environment for them to gain first-hand experience with the legendary transparency that is a hallmark of all GML devices.

Sweetwater President Chuck Surack said, "Representing GML proves we are even more able to offer comprehensive service for our professional recording clients. Having George himself here is proof of our dedication to offer our Sales Engineers the best possible training." Massenburg added that he was impressed by the staff's commitment to learn the GML products inside and out, making them ideally suited to advise clients.

In an additional seminar Massenburg addressed issues common to all modern recording engineers. Referring to his quest to develop uncolored, transparent preamps and EQs in a world that seems preoccupied with such concepts as "tube warmth" and "British sound," Massenburg declared, "In a world of colors, you need 'clean' as a reference point."

The GML line joins Sweetwater's list of pro preamps and signal processors that includes Amek, Digidesign, Drawmer, Focusrite, Grace Design, Manley, Summit Audio, Universal Audio and others.
