Sweetwater Welcomes Largest Class of Interns

Sweetwater's largest class of summer interns will join the company on Monday, May 16. This year, 48 interns will participate in the 12-week long program that gives students real-world experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

They will work in various departments, including accounting, customer experience, event productions, guest services, human resources, marketing, IT, sales, and service.

"We pride ourselves on providing an experience that will prepare students for the workforce," said Chief People Officer Jeff Ostermann. "They aren't doing menial tasks or busy work. They are positioned alongside our highly trained professionals and are doing work that is valuable to the success of Sweetwater."

The paid internships also include opportunities for students to receive regular feedback from managers as well as participation in SweetSessions, which are bi-weekly educational presentations from key leaders at Sweetwater.

"We have worked hard to create a one-of-a kind program that is highly sought after," said Sweetwater Talent Acquisition Specialist Jordan Bridges, who oversees the internship program and is himself a former intern. "Traditionally, about half of the students are able to transition from the internship to full time employment."

Sweetwater received 624 applications and completed 365 interviews to fill the 48 positions. Members of this summer's class are from as far away as Texas, Vermont, Florida, and Massachusetts and attend colleges in 12 states, including Pennsylvania, Missouri, and California. The intern from furthest away is from Finland and attends Indiana Tech. Sweetwater is also excited to welcome three interns through its growing recruiting partnership with Tennessee State University, an HBCU (Historically Black College and University) in Nashville, Tennessee.
