Sweetwater Hires 22 New Employees

FORT WAYNE, Ind, November 7, 2019 – Sweetwater is pleased to announce the recent hiring of 22 new employees.

Daniel Moore – Sales Engineer. Daniel comes to Sweetwater from Carthage, Texas. He graduated from Taylor University in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in music marketing and from Ball State in 2014 with a master's degree in music performance.

Trevor Cochran - Sales Engineer. Trevor is a Michigan-born musician and customer service professional who has been working semi-professionally as an audio engineer for nearly 7 years. He has worked in film and theater on both audio and production design.

Carl Lyday – Sales Engineer. Carl comes from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. He has been involved in music since 4th grade starting with saxophone in school band. His main instrument is drums and has a huge passion for recording and running live sound. Carl has spent the last 6 years as a sales manager for Guitar Center.

Jon Mostacato – Sales Engineer. Jon is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is fluent in Portuguese and familiar with Spanish. Jon has been a part of the Sweetwater family as a Distribution Center employee in the past. He is returning home after three years working as a Worship and Youth leader at an international church in the country of Jordan.

Christopher Finton – Sales Engineer. Christopher is a recent Western Michigan University graduate with a degree in Multimedia Arts and Technology. While he focuses mainly on the production side of music, he has experience in playing guitar, piano, and trombone.

Sarah Smith – Sales Engineer. Sarah is from Sarasota, Florida and received her Recording Engineering degree from Full Sail University in 2014. She has been performing locally and released her first album under the name SLADE.

Tyler Lamb – Sales Engineer. Tyler is from Greencastle, Indiana. His musical background involves guitar, piano, audio engineering, and music production. He has 5 years of recording experience and is a certified audio engineer through Recording Connection. He has been the Engineer/Producer at Second Story Studios for the last 2 years.

John Castro – Sales Engineer. John comes to us from Chicago, Illinois. He worked for Guitar Center as a Customer Service Manager for 11 years and is a metal vocalist. John specializes in live sound and lighting as well as DJ equipment.

Craig Mills – Sales Engineer. Craig is originally from Connecticut and has a degree in Music and Sound Recording from University of New Haven. He spent years playing in bands and operated a commercial recording studio for 10 years.

Kyle Austin – Sales Engineer. Kyle was born and raised in the Detroit suburb. At age 19, he relocated to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he was a crew leader for the City of Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation. Kyle has also toured the Midwest extensively in several bands and is currently working on a solo project.

Drake Sobehrad – Sales Engineer. Drake comes from Lincoln, Nebraska where he owned and operated a recording studio for 7 years. He has been playing saxophone for over 20 years and holds a degree in saxophone performance from the University of Lincoln, Nebraska as well as a degree in audio technology from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas.

Michael Barden – Sales Engineer. Michael has relocated from Saint Joseph, Michigan. He attended Ferris State University and has a degree in Industrial Design. He has been playing guitar for over 14 years.

Jeff Weinstein – Sales Engineer. Jeff is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from the University of Southern California and has more than ten years of sales and management experience in the musical instrument retail field.

Michael Blair – Sales Engineer. Michael is originally from Warsaw, Indiana but relocated from Pocatello, Idaho. He studied Music Education at Brigham Young University.

Christie Timmons – Sales Engineer. Christie has worked for Sweetwater for about 2 years in our Distribution Center and was recently promoted to Sales Engineer. She is a Fort Wayne native who holds a bachelor's degree in Music Technology from Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Jake Barker – Sales Apprentice. Jake was born and raised in Fort Wayne and has had a passion for music all of his life. He plays guitar, keys, and harmonica, and has experience in playing with praise and worship bands. He has been a Supervisor at Biolife Plasma Services for the last 6 years.

Daniel Bennett – Sales Apprentice. Daniel comes from Bothell, Washington where he worked as a Technical Lead for PSAV, an audiovisual company. Prior to that he was a Studio Assistant with Audio One in Miami. He holds a degree in Music Engineering from University of Miami.

Brad Greubel – Web Engineering Manager. Brad is a Fort Wayne native who has owned his own business, Meraki Consulting, for the last several years. Prior to that he was an Integration Architect for Vera Bradley and the Director of Consulting for Aptera Software.

Dan Ottenweller – Mechanical Maintenance Technician. Dan joins Sweetwater as our new HVAC Mechanical Maintenance Technician with the Facilities Maintenance team. Dan graduated from New Haven High School in 2005 and brings nearly 13 years of experience in the HVAC profession.

Jason Villarreal – Senior Brand Strategist. Jason recently worked for Design Collaborative as the Director of Business Development and Marketing. He holds a bachelor's degree in Architecture and master's degrees in Graphic Design and Marketing.

Nick Johnson – Software Engineer. Nick is a Fort Wayne native who has recently been the Head of Development with Reusser Design. Prior to that he was the Chief Technical Officer for Build & Co. He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Purdue University.

Joe Steinbrunner – Software Engineer. Joe is a Fort Wayne native who recently worked for Federal-Mogul Motorparts as a Systems Analyst/Developer. He holds a degree in Information Technology from Vincennes University.
