Sweetwater Hires New VP of Merchandising

Sweetwater is pleased to announce the hiring of Bob "Shep" Shepherd as the new Vice President of Merchandising.

Shepherd brings a wealth of knowledge to the newly-created position, having spent the last 18 years in various leadership roles at Guitar Center. He was most recently the Director of Merchandising at the company's headquarters near Los Angeles.

"Sweetwater's reputation as both a music retailer and a great place to work is second to none. I was blown away by the culture and the familial feeling," said Shepherd. "All of us are smarter when we work together than separately, so I look forward to capitalizing on the knowledge of others and combining it with my experience."

"As our customer base and sales continue to grow exponentially, we are excited to bring Shep on board to help continue the success of Sweetwater," said Senior Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer Phil Rich.

Shepherd is an accomplished guitar player and vocalist. He will help oversee a team of more than a dozen people focused on promoting sales online and in the company's music store at its headquarters in Fort Wayne.
