Sweetwater Presents GearFest '18

Fort Wayne, IN, June 13, 2018 —Sweetwater will present GearFest '18, the largest music instruments and audio gear trade show open to the general public in the United States. It will take place Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Sweetwater campus, 5501 US Hwy 30 W, Fort Wayne, Indiana. GearFest is free and open to the public.

Spread out over more than ¼-million square feet, GearFest combines a gear expo, entertainment events, a musicians' flea market, and musical demonstrations. It also means two days of the best deals ever on the best music instruments and pro audio gear available.

Sweetwater Founder and President Chuck Surack said, "GearFest is unique in being free and open to musicians and audio enthusiasts, unlike most trade shows, which are held for manufacturers and retailers. We're particularly proud that GearFest has such a reputation that it is now bringing people from literally all over the world to Sweetwater's campus in Fort Wayne."

GearFest will feature the newest instruments, music technology, and audio equipment on display in dozens of tents and several semi-trailers. Attendees can enjoy one-on-one time with master guitar luthiers, drum builders, microphone designers, acoustic engineers and many more.

Other highlights include a display of the ZZ Top Eliminator Car presented by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, free guitar restringing, and Sabian cymbal hammering demonstrations.

A multitude of producers and performers will host workshops continuously on five different stages. They include multi-platinum engineer Rich Chychi, drummer Russ Kunkel, producer Fab Dupont, and Grammy award winner Buddy Miller.

Special GearFest features include hourly giveaway drawings for free gear totaling more than $70,000. Attendees can enjoy great food from Sweetwater's Downbeat Diner and the Crescendo Café and a generous selection of the region's most popular food trucks will also be on site.
