Sweetwater Hires 26 New Employees

Fort Wayne, IN, October 22, 2014 - Sweetwater recently hired 26 new employees including nine new Sales Engineers, bringing total employment at Sweetwater to more than 750. Eight of the new employees come from outside Indiana.

Director of Leadership Development and Personal Growth Kelly Byrd will be working with employees at all levels of Sweetwater to maximize personal and professional growth and enhance leadership abilities. He has 26 years of executive leadership in the non-profit world, most recently as the Senior Pastor of Blackhawk Ministries and Founder and President of Team Builders, LLC. He brings a unique set of sound business skills in areas such as communication and team building.

Sales Engineer Lucas Anderson comes from Aldie, Virginia. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Recording Arts from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida and prior to that also attended Butler University in Indianapolis in recording arts. He has worked as a recording engineer at Cue Recording Studios in Falls Church, Virginia.

Sales Engineer Ashton Vaudt is from Virginia Beach, Virginia, and holds a Bachelor of Music from Shenandoah University in Virginia and most recently worked at Guitar Center in Virginia Beach as a pro audio salesperson.

Sales Engineer Tommy Winter is from Indianapolis where he graduated from IUPUI with a Bachelor Degree in Music Technology.

Sales Engineer Dan Overstreet is from Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and received a Bachelor Degree in Music Business and Entertainment from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

Sales Engineer Ken Davis is from Fargo, North Dakota. He holds a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Illinois State University and has spent the past nine years as a software developer and technical trainer for Allegiance Software in Fargo.

Sales Engineer Dave Snow is also from Fort Wayne and attended IPFW as well as Purdue, studying psychology. He has an extensive retail sales background, at Circuit City and Best Buy.

Sales Engineer Chris Neyman grew up in Michigan and attended Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan. For the past two years, he was the Assistant Manager of the local Guitar Center.

Sales Engineer Kyle Schiffli is a Fort Wayne native who graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Arts Administration.

Safety and Security Manager Pete Kelly is a Fort Wayne native who graduated from Bishop Luers High School and then IPFW with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Affairs. He served for 28 years in the Fort Wayne Fire Department, ultimately holding the position of Fire Chief for the city. After retirement from the Fire Department, he spent the last two years as a safety consultant for Bhar Incorporated.

Social Media and Digital Marketing Manager Steve Dwyer held a similar role with Hanson Inc. in Toledo, Ohio, an advertising firm specializing in social media for corporations like Owenings Corning and Raytheon as well as USA Today and the Cannes Film Festival . He holds a BBA in Internet Marketing and Advertising from the University of Toledo.

Print Shop Assistant Cody Walz has a degree from the University of St. Francis in commercial art and graphic design.

Retail Store Salesman Johnny Tapp is from Kansas City and will be attending IPFW.

Sales Engineer and Retail Store Salesman Doug Gushing has a degree from Brown Mackie College in Business. He spent six years in the United States Air Force as a Flight Sergeant.

IT Support Specialist Tyler Schmidtke is attending Indiana Tech for Networking. He has been working as a Network Administrator at Saint Vincent de Paul.

Material Handler Jonathan Taylor has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Huntington University.

Service Administrator Brendan Steed completed the Master Recording program at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, Arizona.

Product Tester Jacob Kimball has a Bachelor Degree from Ball State University in Telecommunications.

Support Technician Bert Shoaff has a Bachelor Degree from the University of St. Francis in Music Technology.

Support Technician Robert Shroyer has an Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems from Ivy Tech. He worked for BAE Systems as the Engineering Support Technician for six years.

Support Technician Zach Gerig is attending University of St. Francis for Music Technology.

Support Technician Matthew Johnson is attending the University of St. Francis for Music Technology.

Support Technician Max Ortega is attending the Univeristy of St. Francis for Music Technology.

Prep Cook James Baughman worked at BJ's Brewhouse as a chef for two years.

Cook Jordan Fisher has been working for the Fort Wayne Country Club as the Head Cook of the pool house.

Receptionist Amanda Burns is attending IPFW for Business Development.
