Sweetwater Celebrates "Make Music Day 2014"

Academy of Music Presents Day of Free Music Performances -

Fort Wayne, IN, June 20, 2014 - Sweetwater Sound, the No. 1 online retailer of music instruments and pro audio equipment in the U.S., will participate in a world-wide event, Make Music Day, sponsored by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), on Saturday, June 21st. A full day of music events, instrument exploration and interactive music participation is planned from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Make Music Day is an annual international event that takes place every June 21st in more than 800 cities and 110 countries around the world. Fort Wayne is the first city in Indiana to host Make Music Day. There are currently twenty-one cities in the US hosting Make Music Day annually.

This year at Sweetwater the events will include an Acoustic Jam, Ukulele Strum, Taiko Drum demonstrations, a Jam Stage, Drum Circles, Live Electronic Music demonstrations, and more. Most of these events are designed to involve and include attendees in group music-making experiences. The one-day event is for all ages and attendees are welcome to bring their own instruments for participation. Families are encouraged to take part in this day of playing music and musical instrument exploration.
