Sweetwater Hires Fourteen New Employees |
| Music Technology Retailer Adds Four to Its Sales Force Sweetwater, the third-largest music instrument and pro audio retailer in the world, recently hired 14 new employees. Four are new Sales Engineers, three of whom are from outside Indiana. The new hires bring total employment at Sweetwater to 369. Sweetwater Founder and President Chuck Surack remarked, "Sweetwater continues to invest in its workforce, particularly in the sales area. With some indication that the economy is turning around, we are increasingly optimistic about the future of the music technology and instrument retail market, and the continued growth of Sweetwater." Sales Engineer Scott Augstyniak is a Fort Wayne native. He attended Bishop Dwenger High School and graduated from the recording arts program at Full Sail in Orlando in 2003. He has worked as a producer at WOWO, and most recently in Sweetwater's shipping department. Sales Engineer Steven Dilmore, another Full Sail graduate, is a Louisiana native who comes from the Florida panhandle. He has worked at Phat Planet Studios in Orlando, Florida. Sales Engineer Bart Good is from Sacramento, California, where he owned his own photography company. He spent three years in the U.S. Air Force and is a graduate of California State University in Sacramento with a degree in digital media. Sales Engineer Tim Maus is from Nashville, where he graduated with a degree in music production from Belmont University. He has worked in Nashville doing marketing work for several recording artists. Technical Support Specialist Kyle Wheeler is a native of Bluffton, Indiana, and a graduate of The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. Web Programmer Dan Schafer has been a Web Developer for the past 14 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from IPFW. Sweetwater also hired two guitar technicians, known as "luthiers", to inspect, build and repair guitars. Luthier Sara Flowers is a graduate of Lansing Community College with an Associate's Degree in Commercial Music. She is also a graduate of the Galloup School of Lutherie in Big Rapids, Michigan. Greg Reszel is a St. Joe, Indiana resident with over twenty years of experience as a distinguished luthier. Most recently he was the head luthier with Grem Guitars and has designed and constructed many electric guitars on his own as well. Shipping Specialist Matt McGowan Matt is currently attending IPFW. Shipping Specialist Kurt Smith most recently worked for 80/20 and Salrite in their shipping departments. Shipping Specialist Chris Filipiak has a BA in Movement and Sports Science from Purdue University. Shipping Specialist Emeri Taivalkoski is a senior at Homestead High School and is taking classes at St. Francis. Shipping Specialist Jared Johnson is from Columbia City and has a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Indiana University. Shipping Specialist Robert Wolfe is originally from Raleigh North Carolina. He previously worked for Glassique Art as a Production Manager in the shipping and receiving department. |
