Sweetwater Hires Ten New Employees |
| - Leading music technology retailer adds to sales force - Fort Wayne, IN, November 16, 2007 - Sweetwater, the fourth-largest music instrument and pro audio retailer in the world, according to Music Trades magazine, has hired 10 new employees, four full-time and six part-time. This brings the total of Sweetwater employees to 296, up from 257 at the beginning of 2007. Sales Engineer A.J. Petersen is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and recently graduated from the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, Minnesota with an Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences. He plays drums, keyboards, and guitar. Sales Engineer Brad Phillips comes from Carmel, Indiana, and holds two degrees: a B.S. in Recording Industry Studies from Butler University, and a Masters in Music Technology from Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has worked at The Lodge Studios and Airborn Studios in Indianapolis. He is an accomplished jazz pianist. Sales Engineer Austin Putt is a Fort Wayne, Indiana native. He holds a B.S. in Music from Indiana-Purdue University, Fort Wayne, with an emphasis on classical guitar and composition, and recently completed course work at The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. Assistant Service Coordinator Vanessa Montalvo is a Fort Wayne, Indiana native and graduate of Indiana-Purdue University, Fort Wayne. She was previously employed at Petroleum Traders in Fort Wayne. Six part-time shipping specialists have also been hired to assist in Sweetwater's Distribution Center. Sweetwater Founder and President Chuck Surack remarked, "Sweetwater continues to hire high-quality individuals from around the country as we near completion of our new $34-million campus. Our plan was to increase employment to 300 jobs by the end of the year, and we're now on pace to exceed that number." ...ends 260 words |
