Groove Tubes was started in the late 1970s by Aspen Pittman, who had a lifelong fascination with tubes and tube tone. This fascination led to Aspen and a team of technical experts to re-evaluate the way tubes were tested and matched. Now, Groove Tubes are the most-used tubes in guitar amps and a favorite of tone aficionados. Groove Tubes soon turned their attention toward the studio, with the Speaker Emulator, a direct recording box that faithfully mimicked the way a miked cabinet sounded. In recent years, Groove Tubes has continued to churn out high-quality studio gear with a line of outstanding studio microphones, as well as popular tube-based preamps and outboard gear.
