Whether you're looking for a compact keyboard that won't clutter up your desk, or a great controller you can pack with your laptop, we're sure you're going to absolutely love the Korg microKEY. I've used all of the ultra-portable midi controllers out there and this one is definitely the cream of the crop. Including the mod wheel and pitchbend wheel is incredibly valuable to me, and having 37... read more [+] keys in this size is perfect. Love this thing and use it everywhere. My only wish is that they they added a MIDI OUT on it so I could use it as a dedicated controller w/o the use of a computer. Oh well, still awesome! :) close [-]

A great travel rig. Works seamlessly with all my software and velocity sensitivity to boot!

Great portability but it has its limitations.

I bought the gear so that I would have something small and on the go. The size is great and the overall feel and finish is light years from the nanoKey line (which is way too flimsy and will break at ... read more [+]the drop of a hat). The keys feel good and I love the two wheel controllers and the transpose buttons. What are the limitations then? For starters the level of velocity feels like is definitely limited and sometimes can transmit the wrong level. I have also experienced short notes feedback when playing several keys at once. To be fair, I don't know if it is a communication issue between the gear and my software (Logic Pro). All I know is that I don't experience the same with my bigger controllers. Having said that, I found it handy enough to use it for some of the synth leads in one of my albums. Nothing like having the ability to use it almost anywhere you can bring your laptop to. close [-]
