I bought this iPad with the intent to use it to store and play backing tracks for a solo guitar and vocal act. I tried this Apple device because a friend suggested iReal as a good application. The tablet was all it was advertised to be....light, outstanding display, fast, good battery life. HOWEVER, the major purpose for the purchase is not easily accomplished. the main problem is iTunes. the super restrictive methodology for moving content quickly to and from the device really gets in the way. When someone is used to plugging in a USB cable and dragging and dropping files to a computing device, the gymnastics involved in maintaining an iTunes library for tracks and particularly pictures is very annoying. Add to that the extremely rudimentary music player and you end up with a device that does not meet its intended use. I have worked around these issues by downloading some of the 3rd party apps, but in retrospect a Motorola or Samsung Android tablet would have been a better choice. Its a good product for personal use, and i am going to retire it to surfing for recipes on food network and playing solitaire and purchase a real professional tool instead. close [-]
