As a solo performer, I've looked at a variety of iPad stands as an alternative to a music stand and huge fake book collection. After comparing features and quality, the K&M stood out as the best over... read more [+]all soution on the market.April 22, 2012 Music Background: Seasoned weekend warrior Soliidly constructed from quality materials, I've found no compromise in performance or durability so far over the first couple months of regular use. The ability to quickly rotate the display on the fly from portrait to landscape, although not used often, is a definite plus when compared to the other builders' requiring the removal of a screw to rotate the plate. The intelligent design of the clip positioning provides for access to the iPad connection port so your device can be connected to power or display output during a show if necessary. Attachment of the holder to a mic stand is easy via the standard threaded connection, or through the included extension clamp. The location of the hinges and clamp allow you to place the holder virtually anywhere on your mic stand and still have a clear view of the display. Recently, I've found it easier to place the holder on its own second mic stand, clamping my Peterson tuner and Bose T1 module to the stand as well, and making my actual mic stand less cluttered. Either solution works well. Although the K&M is not the least expensive solution on the market, I would rank it as one of the best out there and definitely well worth the few extra dollars. close [-] Good Holder

This iPad holder works very well. There is room for plugging accessories into the iPad charging jack. It is very sturdy and well made. The only small gipe I have is the swivel between protrait and ... read more [+]landscape configuration. The swivel only moves 90 degrees, so you're unable to choose whether the charge jack is on the top, or bottom when in landscape mode. That's not a huge deal, but it would be nice if it could swivel a full 360 degrees with detents every at every 90 degrees. Other than that, it's great! Lastly, be aware that you must buy for either the original iPad, or the iPad 2. It's not convertable between the two. close [-]

I used the K&M iPad Stand Holder for my iPad1 on four gigs and think it is easier to see the iPad when it is off to the side, instead of having to look past the mic stand boom. It hasn't fallen out o... read more [+]r anything, but the plastic edges or lip that holds the iPad in place seem less secure than the iKlip did. Now my iPad is more in-line with the neck of my guitar so makes less obvious that I'm using the electric fake book. Overall though, it's a cool.tool. close [-]
