Customer Reviewsfrom LA, CA November 18, 2012Music Background: Engineer, Producer Who needs a Glyph?I've had an older version (no USB 3.0, just Firewire 800 and USB 2.0) of this Quadra for over 3 years now. Its performed FLAWLESSLY. That little blue thing that you think is just an indicator light? That's actually a button. You can assign it to open any application you like... I call it the Pro Tools button. It has an auto mode so it'll fall asleep and wake up with your computer, built like a tank, a little heavy and not great for travel but you should know that's not a portable HD. I'm about to buy this new one and get the option rack ears kit and rack both my Quadra's. Cannot beat it, I swear you'll fall in love with this drive and you can trust that it wont fail for a very very long time.from New York State, USA January 16, 2013Music Background: Audio and Video Engineer Setting up the Quadra...I bought this drive to ship Audio files to a client. Normally, the first thing I do is get rid of any files on the drive, but this time I had to run the installer to get any where. All went well and the drive showed up on the Mac. Then I had to find a way to re-format the drive to FAT-32 so It could be read by a Windows computer at the client end. This took a while, but in the end I was successful and the files loaded fine from the Mac and the drive showed up in Explorer on the Windows computer I used to add the Word files that went along with it. Thru all this I had no n problem with the drive at all. I generally use Glyph drives but this unit seemed to be up to the task.from Bronx, New York December 4, 2012Music Background: Pro Musician Awesome External Hard DriveUsB 3.0 makes transferring files and back ups a breezefrom Wil,ington, NC USA November 28, 2012Music Background: Performer for 30 years, Voice Actor for 15 years, Recording Engineer for 10 It's a good product! The Lacie hard drive itself is excellent! My only complaint is that the fire wire cable keeps coming loose and throwing me off of the hard drive. I called about it and they said it is an ongoing problem with these particular fire wire cables. For now, I'm using duct tape to keep the cable from falling out!
