Amazing tone in a tiny package amPlug is a headphone guitar amp that can fit in the palm of your hand. Just plug it into your guitar, put on your headphones, and start enjoying serious guitar tones with amazing presence. You can choose from three types of sound. There's the aptly named "AC30" which gives you the top boost sound of a vintage Vox AC30, "Classic Rock" which delivers the classic high gain sound of a UK-manufactured 100W amp, and "Metal" which produces the aggressively powerful metal sound of a US-made amp. With these three different amplug products to choose from, you can start enjoying whatever guitar sound suits your mood for the day. Analog circuitry, tube tone amPlug simulates the circuitry of a vacuum tube amp completely in analog. The result is superior headphone amp tone for players who are particular about their sound. Vox was sure to take great care with amPlug's gain circuitry. The "AC30" amPlug uses two natural-sounding gain stages to reproduce the distinctive AC30 tone. The "Classic Rock" model amPlug uses four classical gain circuits to deliver that great sound. The "Metal" amPlug uses two stages of ultra-high gain plus a mid-cut circuit, giving you modern metal high-gain sound anywhere and anytime. Even the circuit response of the original amp is simulated completely. The simulation extends not only to the response of the tone circuits, but also to the way in which the high frequency and gain are affected when you turn down the volume control of the guitar. Every detail has been faithfully reproduced. Get great tone anywhere With up to fifteen hours of battery life, it's easy to take amPlug anywhere. In addition to being an ideal home practice tool, the amPlug provides a great way to warm up before a live performance, or on the road. And amPlug is not just a convenient way to get great guitar sound - it also features an auxiliary input jack so you can jam along with your CD/MP3 player. When starting out playing (even as a hobby) you will spend a bulk of money on gear to find your individual sound, guitars, amps, pickups, pedals, etc. Practice amps can range from cheap to $400+ and a... read more [+]re stationary. The Amplug is $40 in 3 different styles, the sound is as good as my fullsize amp and you don't even notice it's there. I was used to a confined corner in the house with a stationary amp with 6ft headphone cord and was not the best way to progress. I chose the Amplug Metal for the extra overdrive, but it is suprisingly versitile for many different rock sounds. You can play in bed, watching TV, in the hallway, even at the dinner table if it suites. Gain mode goes from high to insane, and the tone dial can dig out harmonics you didn't know you had. All in all a perfect investment for any range of player, just put in your headphones and you're rockin in your own world (wherever). close [-]
