It also contains a digital delay effect, delivering a huge, spatial sound that could not be previously obtained, and giving you a rich and full-fledged lead sound that you can play anytime and anywhere. Analog circuitry, tube tone amPlug simulates the circuitry of a vacuum tube amp completely in analog. The result is superior headphone amp tone for players who are particular about their sound. Vox was sure to take great care with amPlug's gain circuitry. The "Bass" amPlug gives you full-range tone and a built-in compressor/boost effect plus a FET buffer circuit. Based on U.S.-made boutique amps, the "Lead" amPlug includes a spacious digital delay effect for full-sounding leads. The "AC30" amPlug uses two natural-sounding gain stages to reproduce the distinctive AC30 tone. The "Classic Rock" model ampPlug uses four classical gain circuits to deliver that great sound. The "Metal" amPlug uses two stages of ultra-high gain plus a mid-cut circuit, giving you modern metal high-gain sound anywhere and anytime. Even the circuit response of the original amp is simulated completely. The simulation extends not only to the response of the tone circuits, but also to the way in which the high frequency and gain are affected when you turn down the volume control of the guitar. Every detail has been faithfully reproduced. Get great tone anywhere With up to fifteen hours of battery life, it's easy to take amPlug anywhere. I bought this Vox Lead Head with the little Vox 3" speaker cab as a novelty. I thought it would be some fun. I play it through my Epi Valve Jr. and a 1 x12 cab, and this thing has all kinds of killer tones. The only problem is that it takes getting used to spining the knobs upside down since the unit plugs straight into the jack. this thing sounds amazing. a tube amp in your case/bag.April 10, 2009 Music Background: wannabe turn the gain down all the way,mid to mid,and max out the volume for a creamy clean, max out everything for heavy crunch.and of course eve... read more [+]rything in between.the delay adds a nice mild flavor you can turn on and off with a switch.just don't expect to be able to tweak the effect.the whole thing is made of plastic and seems kinda fragile.i could see the jack snapping off, but i am pretty rough with my stuff.would be cool if it was like a v.w. key...switch jack amp...fits perfect on fenders, but for every other guitar run your headphone cable/ instrument cable with connector to headphone from radio shack($4.oo) out and under the strap where it meets the guitar then put the cable through a back belt loop of your pants then on to wherever(p.a.,stereo,car...) to keep things out of your way and your amplug pretty secure, just try to remember not to set your guitar down with it still plugged in. bottom line out of all the headphone amps(and some real amps)this little vox should be in your tool box. for 50 bucks you'd be stupid not to buy this. think of it as a backup amp that goes everywhere, just treat it with respect. close [-] Awesome little amp
