From Our Research Team:You Won't Pay a Lot for this 2-channel Passive DI!The ART DUALZDirect Professional Passive Direct Box is the 2-channel version of the ART Zdirect. It's a high-quality totally passive interface that lets you connect instrument, line, or speaker level signals to a mixer or other balanced input thru a high performance audio isolation transformer. A pair of high impedance single-ended 1/4" inputs are converted by the transformer into an isolated balanced low impedance signal source. The DUALZDirect has an extremely flat and wide frequency response and can handle high signal levels while still maintaining an isolated balanced low-impedance output. This gives the DUALZDirect a very clean and neutral sound with a wide variety of signal sources and over long signal runs in high noise environments.Unlike traditional direct boxes, the DUALZDirect features a switchable low pass filter that cuts out all very high frequency interference. This Bessel filter on the output is placed out of the audio range and is reduces radio frequency interference before it gets into the main system. The filter is also very effective in reducing any digital computer noise artifacts when using the DUALZDirect as an interface between a computer DAW and monitors. The DUALZDirect's Input Attenuator switches allow for a wide range of signal levels and the Input Thru jack allows for tapping off of your signal chain. The Ground Lift switch lets you totally separate the input and output signal grounds, when appropriate, to isolate two systems, thereby reducing hum and ground-loop noise. Another non-traditional feature is a Phase Inversion switch that allows you to switch signal polarity right at the source. This is especially handy when you are combining a direct tap with a microphone feed in the mix. The compact black anodized all aluminum case and its flexible power design allow the DUALZDirect to provide years of trouble free service in live sound, permanent installations, DJ booths, and virtually any PA application. The full feature set, rugged construction, and high-end specifications make the DUALZDirect the obvious choice whenever you have to interface high impedance sources with a low noise balanced system. The ART DUALZDIRECT 2-channel passive direct box is a gem. It works well, has low noise and is perfect for my application. I am using it for our Rolland V drum set at our church. The thru plugs allow ... read more [+]me to link the sound from the drum module into a small mixer in addition to feeding it into the main sound system. The small mixer receives the drum audio as well as a monitor mix from the main system which then feeds into a couple of studio reference speakers which provide the drummer a nice stereo monitor that makes the drums sound more like an acoustic drum set. The compact size means that there isn't an unsightly mess of extra equipment sitting around either. Win, Win, Win! close [-]

February 14, 2012 Music Background: I previously had looked at more expensive solutions but finally found this passive stereo direct box which greatly improved the sound. There is still some background noise, but it is far below the signal level and could be from the PC/soundcard itself. I'm happy. I don't have to try to EQ out the higher frequency noise that use to drive me crazy. close [-] Also popular
