These are far better than mere "computer speakers". The Focal XS 2.1 speaker system truly is a sweet way to compliment anyone's computer or even a home studio! A set of these spent a week in my home connected to my iMac and my family enjoyed listening - (softly and jamming loud) - to various music and movies. Excellent gift idea for your loved ones too!

I had a chance to A/B this against my existing high-performance computer speakers, and let me tell you this little Focal XS 2.1 system ROCKS!!! I love the build quality, but most of all I love the the sound. The bass from the sub is well balanced with the mids and highs and the stereo image is SUPERB!
I will say they do still possess the crispiness of computer speakers, but the quality of sound just seems ten times better than any computer speaker I have ever heard. I would check my mixes on these.

Beyond my expectation!

Bought these to accompany my "work computer" purely for listening pleasure... Bear in mind I use Barefoot MM27s in my studio so the bar was set fairly high. Simply put, I'm blown away by what $600 buys you with these babies. Definitely "prosumer" grade, and you may get a some buyer's remorse when comparing them to the expensive toys in your studio! Highly recommended and very atheistic.

it's ok but

the first one sent to me didn't work so I had to send it back the 2nd one sounds ok but my Boston Acoustic system at home is on the same page as Focal and at 1/2 the price. In fairness I would have bought the Boston Acoustic again but they don't make my model anymore. I will say Sweetwater is an honorable place to shop they are helpful and are willing to work with you in times of trouble. this item is French made and I hate the French (this said for full disclosure)
