Great, Inexpensive MIDI Interface!

E-MU's XMIDI 1x1 is a plug-and-play USB MIDI Interface that adds an ultra-fast MIDI input and output (16 MIDI channels in/out) to your computer. The XMIDI 1x1 is bus-powered for total portability and offers status indicators for input signal, output signal and power. The XMIDI 1x1 cable measures 0.92 meters on the USB side and 2.1 meters on the MIDI side.

Awesome. Tried it on two of my Macs (10.4.11 and 10.5.6) and it just worked. As advertised, NO DRIVER INSTALLATION NEEDED!

It worked great with GarageBand, Audio MIDI Setup (including... read more [+] Sharing MIDI on a network) and a host of other MIDI applications I tried. All without having to install any driver software.

Both MIDI In and MIDI Out worked fine.

I highly recommend this product as the fewer drivers you have to install the more stable your system will be. close [-]

Works Great With Windows Vista 64

Before ordering I did some research and verified that there were drivers for the Xmidi 1x1 for Windows XP, XP x64 and Vista, but I couldn't find any mention of Vista 64 drivers.
When I plugged... read more [+] the Xmidi 1x1 into a USB port on the back of my PC Windows instantly recognized the device and automatically installed the drivers. The Xmidi 1x1 was ready to use in seconds.
I think the Xmidi 1x1 is a great value for a simple, inexpensive MIDI interface. close [-]

As another review indicated, I can confirm that the Xmidi worked with Vista64 without installing any drivers. Plugged it into my laptop, Vista64 recognized the device and installed the drivers.
