The XL2 Kit includes all the components you need to create effective video content. In addition to the feature-packed XL2 camcorder, the kit contains a 20x zoom lens, AC power adapter and battery pack, and video and audio cables. The XL2 is truly a turnkey video system. Canon XL2 Kit Includes:
Flexible, easy-to-use DV camera with lots of performance features Even if you've never shot video before, you'll find that using the XL2 is easy! It uses compact, affordable MiniDV cassettes and features autofocus and a host of other performance and convenience features that can't be found in this combination on other high-end video cameras. They include: Canon Super Range Optical Image Stabilization in the standard lens; dual aspect ratios to accommodate video and cinema formats; three frame rate capabilities for standard video and 24-frame progressive scan for film compatibility; and skin detail control for realistic images. The XL2 also has a large 2" color LCD display. Multiple frame rates for versatile video production The XL2 delivers 60i, 30p, 24p frame rates. 60i (interlaced) is the standard video frame rate that has been in use for decades. It's what you see on your home TV. Progressive (non-interlaced) scanning mimics a film camera's frame-by-frame image capture. 30-frame progressive, a non-interlaced format, delivers spectacular clarity for high speed subjects. Shooting in 30P mode offers video with no interlace artifacts. The XL2's 24p frame rate has been widely for transferring video to film. Film/video makers turn to 24p for the "cine" look, simply because of the "look" of the frame rate. Also just as important as 24p is the XL2's shutter speed of 48 per second, the standard shutter speed that movie cameras use. The combination of 24p frame rate and 1/48th perfectly mimic a motion film camera. Quality digital audio interface Canon knows that audio is crucial to professional productions, and the XL2 provides the highest standards in audio capture available on a digital video system with a 16-bit/48kHz 2-channel recording option. The XL2 also has two additional 12-bit/32kHz recording channels allowing simultaneous recording on four channels. Audio levels can be controlled automatically or manually to further extend sound quality as it is recorded. The XL2 includes a high-quality stereo electret condenser microphone. To protect your audio settings from accidental misalignment, all audio setup by switches are located under an audio door. The Canon XL2 allows you to capture images closer to the finished product than ever before.
