IM IN LOVE
by Dave Noel , September 2006
this pedal is amazing direct in a board. I cant say enough about this box. Actually im buying another one right away..for clean channel... and tweaked up right with the NUKE.. is the most KILLER clean ive heard. Finally a distortion that sounds like a tube amp. NO KIDDING. The pre EQ and POST are a 'bit' tricky... but once you get the hang of it.. PURE BLISS. What I like a lot is small moves on the knobs make big differences.
Great distortion
by Eric Palmer , September 2006
Music Background: recording engineer, musician
I have spent many dollars on different distortion boxes, from tonebone to all in one pedals, looking for the best sound I can get. I am pleased with the womanizer, it has a tightness in sound, and all of the notes ring true and clear, no matter how sizzled you dial it up. I think its one of the best distrions out there. This one, being slightly warmer then the demonizer. It has a direct out, which is really great, and may replace miking your amp for convenience. I am pleased with the direct out sound, It is not the end all, but usefull. One of my gripes is that there is no independant volume for the 2 channels. when going into nuclear mode, the volume can increase significantly, and also the tone brightens up a bit as well. might have to use a boost pedal to even out the level differences if planning on using both channels. Also, the power contact might take some fiddling for it to sit in right, at first, mine would come out easily if bumped. but this has replaced my tonebone.
What I've been looking for...
by Dominic from Columbia, MD, July 2006
Music Background: El Duce!
I've been playing music (multi-instrumentalist) for 16 years. I gave up playing any type of distorted music 8 or 9 years ago because I could never find an overdrive unit that sounded full and powerful. I looked into Carl Martin's Plexitone, but chose the Womanizer instead. I bought the unit this morning, and from the first note I was "blown away". The musicians I play with didn't know what to think, and I really can't wait to see the limits of this pedal. It has a very solid construction, and is aesthetically pleasing. I would recommend this unit for someone looking for great distorted drive.
