Road tested by EVH himself
To say this guitar is "road tested" would definitely be an understatement! Wolfgang prototypes were put through a full year of brutal in-concert road testing by Eddie on Van Halen's triumphant 2007-2008 world tour. The result is a bulletproof and beautiful guitar that takes whatever you can dish out and then asks for more. As the VH tour roared along, Eddie changed and adjusted components and specs until he was satisfied with the Wolfgang's sound, feel and looks. To prove that it was battle-worthy and could survive the road, performance data was collected from every gig for months and months to establish and confirm consistency and durability.

Built to Eddie's exacting specifications
From its basswood body and 1/2"-thick AAAAA flame maple top to its quartersawn maple neck and beautiful ebony fingerboard, the EVH Wolfgang just screams quality - and that's just the tonewoods! This gorgeous guitar is made for serious playing, with dual graphite reinforcement rods in the neck, a Floyd Rose #2 locking nut and EVH Floyd Rose trem (complete with D-Tuna), and hard-mounted EVH humbuckers. The controls are top-notch, too: you get a handy 3-way pickup selector switch and Bourns low-friction volume and tone pots for total control over your tone and volume. All the components come together to make a guitar that looks absolutely stunning and plays even better.

Quartersawn neck for stability and playability
The neck is one of the most important aspects of any instrument, which is why the EVH Wolfgang features a quartersawn maple neck. Besides looking good, the straight grain of quartersawn necks is about 50% more stable than plain-sawn necks, and less likely to warp, twist or shrink. You'll also love the playability and feel of the compound radius fretboard on the Wolfgang. The fretboard radius goes from 12" at the nut to a comfortable and flat 16" radius on the upper frets.
