awesome tone...nothing like a REAL tube preamp...most tube preamps are real tube preamps like the vipre..

You get what you pay for here...I A/B it to my GT brick and 610 solo..you can hear the $3000 difference..

I can't believe this bad boy still doesn't have a single review. The excitement of equipment often fades away, but on this preamp, i still remember the WOW feeling I had the very first time i used one of these, probably 5+ years ago. Built like a tank, sounds like a dream. The variable impedence really came in useful in getting the most out of my mic collection. The variable rise time was one of my favorite features. I tracked vocals, acoustic and electric guitars through it and loved them all. Then, I used it in conjunction with my Line6 pod to get a larger than life guitar tone by using it as a DI and going into my PodPro via the line input. The pod really came to life and delivered some of the fattest and sweetest tones i've ever conjured up.

yeah - it's been five years since then and I still have that WOW feeling. It's a little pricey, but what an amazing tool if you can afford it.
