A Convenient Plug-and-play On-camera Mic

The Rode VideoMic GO II supercardioid shotgun microphone offers unprecedented convenience and ease-of-use. Completely plug and play, this lightweight shotgun mic is powered by your camera's external microphone input or USB-C connection — no batteries required. You can even use the TRS output for headphones while USB mode is engaged! It doesn't skimp on quality, either. When we first heard the VideoMic GO II at Sweetwater, we were absolutely stunned by the ultra-clean sound afforded by its tight, highly-directional pickup pattern. Whether you're working on a television or film set, in a stadium, or on a wildlife preserve, the Rode VideoMic GO II supercardioid shotgun microphone's time-saving design will ensure that you never miss a great shot again.

Intelligent design delivers ultra-clean sound

The VideoMic GO II delivers clear, crisp, directional audio. Its tight pickup area focuses directly in front of the microphone and reduces other surrounding sounds, ensuring that your subject is isolated from distracting background noise that could ruin an otherwise perfect recording. To provide further isolation from wind that could interfere with your sound, the VideoMic GO II also features a handy windshield.

Rode delivers high-quality, value-priced microphones

Rode Microphones was one of the earliest established manufacturers of professional and affordable recording-quality condenser microphones. Committed to offering the highest-quality microphones possible for the dollar, Rode has developed a solid reputation among professional and project studios the world over. In fact, their NT2-A won a series of accolades including "World's Best Studio Microphone" at the prestigious Frankfurt Musikmesse. With corporate headquarters and all manufacturing based in Australia, we continue to see some of the first-rate, affordable microphones in existence from Rode Microphones.

Superior sound!

This microphone produces great sound on my video camera and phone.

great for podcasting and YouTube creators

We just started a reaction channel. We would typically use the Rodecaster Pro with headsets, but since we don't have a studio, we have to move a bunch of stuff around every time. These mics are small and lightweight and work easily with Rode Connect (basically the software version of the Rodecaster Pro. This combine with the rich sounds of the mics is a perfect solution.

I like it so far

Its pretty good. Bigger than I expected but it can be used on different devices.

I thought it would be better than the Movo mic I purchased; I was wrong

I purchased this hoping that it would perform better than the $40 Movo VXR10 mic I use with my iPhone. It did not. In fact, Rode omitted including the necessary TRS-TRRS cable that I use with my iPhone Lightning adapter. So, I pinched the Movo cable and plugged it into the Rode. The Rode then worked perfectly. But the sound? About the same.
