Digidesign Velvet - Stunning Virtual Electric Piano for Pro Tools

Digidesign's A.I.R. division wowed us earlier this year with the synth powerhouse Hybrid, and now they give us Velvet. Velvet faithfully reproduces the sound and feel of classic Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos and packages it nicely in an easy-to-use graphic interface. There are over 100 presets included, plus sounds can easily be tweaked with controls for overall timbre, dynamic response, and velocity curve of each model for a range of classic and contemporary electric piano sounds. Velvet gives you a ton of built-in processors to tailor the sound to your desires with a preamp featuring tube overdrive, compression, and 3-band EQ, along with distortion, wah/filter, modulation, and Echoplex delay. The electric piano was instrumental to the sound of rock n' roll in the '50s and '60s, and Velvet puts it in the hands of Pro Tools users at a fraction of the cost of a vintage Wurlitzer or Rhodes.
