The Sounds of 25 Great Guitars in One Variax!

Here’s an all-new Variax for those of you who want Line 6’s guitar modeling wizardry but aren’t quite ready to go for the Variax 700. The Variax 600 features a comfort-contoured basswood body and a single-piece maple neck and fingerboard with classic feel and a traditional “skunk stripe.” The custom L.R. Baggs tremolo bridge gives you the power to dive bomb the stage. With a 25 1/2" scale and 9 1/2" fingerboard radius, the Variax 600 is comfortable and easy to play.

Line 6 modeling technology makes the Variax 600 come alive with the sounds of 25 electric and acoustic instruments. You have the freedom to dial in a new sound whenever you want, making it possible to “change” instruments in the middle of a song. A digital I/O jack allows you to connect the Variax 600 to a PODxt Live, Vetta II, or Line 6’s new Workbench software. There’s also a standard 1/4" guitar output when you want to play it straight. The included XPS A/B footswitch selects between standard guitar output and an XLR balanced output for sending acoustic sounds to a separate amp or PA.

Line 6 Variax 600 Features:
  • Black finish

Reviews

Variax 600 is amazing!

First of all, there are so many bad reviews out there that put down the action on this guitar. Enough bad hype to make me hesitant on my purchase. I played one at a local music shop. It was a stock... read more [+] set up from the factory and I found it to be acceptable. The one I bought from Sweetwater has the action comparable to my Fender American Deluxe and plays just as well, if not better, thanks to Sweetwater's guitar techs who make sure you receive a quality guitar. So don't put stock into the propaganda you may find on the action of this guitar...it's just not true.

Now if you are not a Line 6 customer, I would recommend you get a POD if you want to get the full benefits of the technology provided by Line 6. The possibilities are endless for the money you will invest. I have used my Variax without my PODXT Live and it does sound amazing without the added fluff. But if you want to get the total package and experience the total tonal bliss that you see advertised get the POD as well. For a little over grand you get an arsonal of amps, guitars, and pedals that would cost you every bit of $75,000 if not more to buy individually. Buy it...for real!

Bottom line this guitar is a beautiful marriage of wood and technology. Regardless if you are a live player or a studio musician, this is the way to go. I have to add that I will never deal with another music retailer other than Sweetwater. Their customer care is A+ and they have a customer for life with me. Buy the guitar and you will see how much it will change your musical life. close [-]

If you know how to use it, go for it

Ok, I don't know if this requires some sort of special software or what (I am not a digital guitarist or anything like that), but this guitar did not impress me at ALL. It doesn't look good at all, i... read more [+]t didn't work with normal tube amps or anything for me, and it could play better. If you know about the Variax technology, go for it, but I seriously suggest you save your money for something better. close [-]

Our Customers Say...

My Sales Engineer is the best. If I need it tomorrow, I have it tomorrow. He makes sure everything is in order and that I'm set up right. I've spent a lot of money at other places, too, but I don't remember them calling me to make sure everything's okay.
