ReviewsGreat Amp for the price
by Charles Newman from Jacksonville, NC
Just bought this head from Brendan and I must say am very satisfied so far. The reverb feature is what made the decision between this and the nighttrain so much easier not to mention the price. I me... read more [+]na really a 20w tube amp for less than 300? Not in your wildest dreams did you imagine the quality you are getting in this amp. Admittedly I hav ehad the amp for about two weeks now and am still playing around with settings and most likely will be till I die. But this is the perfect small portable gigging tube amp. I run mine through an avatar 212 cab with eminence 25w speakers and the sound is amazing. Not the same as my Fender Blues Deluxe nor the same as Vox nor Marshall but to me has the best qualities of each rolled into this small light package. A great buy for the money. I sincerely and strongly recommend it. close [-]

Anyone that knows me knows that I love the Epiphone E Series amps. Its not because i like burgundy colored tolex either. They are ( by design and intent ) a renewal of the "student" and "budget" model amps of the 50's and 60's. Such amps as the original 10 watt VOX AC4,(valve junior) The Fender Deluxe,(Valve senior) the Univox Blue "B" series heads (SO CAL 50) and Big Gibson twin amps from the Late 50's and early 60's (The Blues Custom 30). The originals defined the sound of the rock and roll era they were affordable then to most musicians AND they were very high quality. Many of them are still in use 30 - 50 years later. Gibson has an eye on the past, present and future with these amps and I have not been let down by any of the E series amps I've owned or used. I am using a 6V6 based Marshall MZH15 right now (also available at Sweetwater )because of its higher gain. The Epiphone Valve senior IMHO is actually superior to the Marshall in a couple of features (real spring reverb, overall looser vintage American tone), and is half the price. I highly, highly recommend this amp for an authentic American tube amp sound, superior value and very high quality. close [-]

Did I mention LOUUUDD but don't take my word for it call Mike and test drive one for yourself. You'll be satisfied close [-]
