  undecided
by David Dyer from Indiana, November 2007
Music Background:  15yrs guitar player / 2 yr amp builder

I just "repaired" one of these amps, it wasn't really broke the tubes just sucked. I think the 6L6's were shot.

Depending on the tubes you can get different sounds. With 2 mesa red 6L6's, 2 JJ 6L6's, and JJ pretubes it had an extremely thick sound. The amp gets muddy quickly when the gain up if you don't turn the bass and resonance down. The lower the resonance the tighter the response of the amp.

My customer plays in a metalcore band, and more than likely i'm going to rip out the preamp and build a slo/dr type pre in it.
