A Modestly Priced, Reference-level Nearfield

KRK worked with hundreds of engineers and producers to get the response right for its V6 Series 4 monitors. The key ingredients were a ported cast-aluminum/MDF enclosure and a complement of custom Kevlar drivers: a 6.5" woven woofer and 1" dome tweeter that are, together, flat from 14Hz to 19Khz (±3dB). This full, flat response makes KRK V6 Series 4s a serious budget option for mixing, mastering, and all demanding listening applications.

KRK V6 Series 4 monitors: not just a pretty face

Under the hood, KRK's dual Class D amplifiers deliver 155 watts to the drivers for an impressive 115dB SPL. Its 14 user-selectable EQ settings allow you to overcome shortcomings in your listening environment. Other features that impressed us at Sweetwater include a friction-lock Neutrik connector for XLR or TRS cables, a universal threaded mounting bracket, a precise 7-way attenuation switch for level matching, and an EVA foam pad for acoustic isolation.

They’re a keeper!

Upgraded from old KRK Rokit 5s. I tried the Kali LP6 V2 and to me they lacked bottom end and sounded just to spacious with a surround sound. Should have stayed with the KRK brand. These V6 are detailed with perfect bottom end abs highs the mids and everything sounds detailed. I left settings Flat how it came and will leave that way they sound perfect!

Excellent Value

Crystal clear, dead quiet; response flat as a pancake. The most serious speaker I've ever seen or heard. I've spent two weeks with them now and am finally ready to throw out the boxes. These are keepers.
Can you really hear anything better from the exotic monitors?

KRK V6S4

These replaced a pair of Yamaha HS 5's.

I like these v6s4 a lot, especially when using in tandem with Avantone Mixcubes. With this combination of speakers I am able to address my midrange in a way that takes subjectivity out of the equation. This helps facilitate more headroom for creative moves in the process. They are kind of picky about what sounds they like, leading to better choices early in the process so you don't have to fix in the mix later. Although they are picky, they also don't deliver the fatiguing ns10 "This hurts so fix me!" kind of detail. Instead, they are just clear. It is what it is. you can work for longer hours on these.

I love these so much I'm thinking about picking up the v4s4 model as well for mobile work.

These would receive a 5 star rating, however their boxes came in absolutely drenched and tattered.
Luckily the speakers themselves haven't given any problems whatsoever and seem to be built very well.

Many have complained about the hiss they make.
To be honest, its there only if I put my ears up to the speaker.
My computer laptop fans are 10x louder, no exaggeration - so its absolutely not a problem for producing/recording/mixing/reference.

Hiss Sound Issue

These monitors monitors sound great but have an annoying hiss sound. I had a pair of Yamaha HS8s on the same set up (Apollo Twin) and no hiss sound was present. The hiss sound is present even when they are not connected to the sound card. I've tried several outlets and the hiss is still present. This was my second attempt with these monitors. I purchased the same monitor a few months back and returned them since the hiss was present. I purchased these again thinking KRK had fixed the issued. I emailed Rich at KRK and he assured me that the noise hiss issue was fixed. Still present.
