This is a serious rig

For awhile now I'd been looking for a combo that wasn't tiny sounding. Now I found this monster, I read somewhere that it was loud, but I didn't believe it so I set the amp on 12 o'clock just to start... read more [+], thinking I would have to bring it up from there. Turned up my bass and almost blew my own head off. This thing really is loud! Backed up to 3 and that was plenty for my outdoor gig that day. All my bandmates loved the clarity right out of the box, clean and punchy. Very little adjustment on EQ and minimal compression. Don't underestimate how heavy the cabinet is (85 lbs) It'll wreck you if you're not careful, looks cool too. Nothing compares to this combo. close [-]

The amp feels nice, looks nice and sounds great. The amp is very versatile when it comes to different styles of music. I bought this amp and several different styled bass players use it and not one ... read more [+]has complained.

I don't have the issue with the DI out being weak. Mainly because I put a tube preamp on the di out because.....well...why not! close [-]

good product

I wanted an inexpensive 410 bass combo that would adequately suit my needs, in this regard the VX3500 does. I was a bit worried 350 watts would not be enough power but after a few gigs that was put to... read more [+] rest.

The sound techs at the venues I've played so far have complained about the amps DI out being very noisy and having a very weak signal. There is no gain on the DI out like I'm used to on more expensive rigs. So they get what they get... pretty much unusable signal.

Here's the fix:

I took my Tech 21 3-channel bass preamp I usually use in my studio and plugged it into the loop section of my amp. Now I have a strong (and quiet) new DI out signal that keeps the sound guys happy! But the big plus is, now I have an $800 amp that sounds like an SVT... Bassman or whatever! Awesome!

A super amp that is very loud! Downside: no tuner out and is a fairly hefty amp... but I'm glad I got it!
