VT series Vox's Valvetronix series fuses high-quality modeling technology with the acclaimed Valve Reactor tube technology. The VT series gives you twenty-two amp models that range from the latest high-gain types to hard-to-find boutique and vintage amps, together with a full complement of effects, covers the needs of a wide variety of styles and performance techniques. Presets Sixty-six preset programs are also provided, including 22 song programs that simulate the guitar sounds of famous guitarists, so even beginners who aren't familiar with guitar amps can start enjoying serious guitar sound right away. The VT series is available in four models -15, 30, 50, or 100 watts - ranging from an entry-level model to units that can stand up to professional use on stage or in the studio. Valve Reactor circuit The VOX Valve Reactor analog original power amp circuit actually has the same power amp circuit as a full-tube amp, using a 12AX7 miniature triode to reproduce a distinctive tube amp sound unattainable by digital technology. In other words, it replicates aspects that have an important influence on the sound of a tube amp, such as the power amp's class A/AB operation and the interaction of the power stage with the speaker, thus reproducing not only the response of the original amp's power amp circuitry, but also the power amp's distortion as well as the nuances and subjective sound pressure of a full-tube amp. Since there's a power level control that allows you to decrease just the volume without affecting the tonal character, you can adjust the volume while enjoying the same sense of drive as when the master volume is at maximum. This means that you can obtain the exact same sound even when you're unable to play at maximum volume, such as when you're at home. Vox VT15 15-watt Modeling Guitar Amplifier Features:
The Vox VT15 puts an amazing array of amps and effects in one amazing-sounding, affordable unit!

I had to add to my previous review. Recently we played a gig as a warm-up band and used to PA set up of the main act. This did NOT include the ability to mic our amplifiers, so I used the mighty 15W... read more [+] on its own. It handled the job beautifully (in a room that holds about 300). So, my previous review was incorrect in that this bad boy CAN be stand-alone gig loud, although I think the 50W model would be a better option if that's your primary method of performing.August 4, 2010 Music Background: I still love this amp. close [-] It Barks, and it Bites

Did NOT buy this from Sweetwater (but only because I was given a gift certificate from a competitor). This little box really rocks. Smaller than I expected, light, LOUD (not stand-alone gig loud, bu... read more [+]t we mic everything up anyway). Amazing tonal pallete. If you can't find something on here that just makes you smile, you may be a snob. I'll probably never use more than 30% of the sounds this amp is capable of making (unless our band goes Metal or Screamo or something -- don't really see that happening), but it is so cool to be able to turn a knob, tweak a chicken-head, push a button and have all that available. Granted, I've never actually played through a "night train" amp or most of the classic amps these settings are modelled after. For 24 years I've played through the same Peavey Bandit 75 (which has a great clean tone, btw) with an assortment of pedals trying to create tones close to what comes out of this VOX with just the turn of a knob. I just love it!March 10, 2010 Music Background: 26 years playing with various bands and doing solo shows. The one fault I would cite is a "noise" when switching between presets. Not all the time, but it happens. Turning down the volume on the guitar helps this. Do yourself a favor and find one of these, sit down with it for an half hour or so, and enjoy. (I'm guessing it will turn into an hour or more.) Well done, VOX. close [-]
