Customer Reviewsfrom Los Angeles, CA USA August 10, 2009Music Background: Semi-Pro keyboardist Very cool and unique keyboardJust got the keyboard earlier today and played with it for hours. This keyboard is beautiful cosmetically, well built, and a blast to play! The included headset microphone is very good also. This keyboard just came out awhile back so it has the latest vocoding technology from Roland. The vocal designer is pretty amazing and realistic (realistic does not apply to the robotic vocoders)! Brass and strings at the ensemble section are great also, the rest are just average to me. Roland could've used a better acoustic piano though, but then I used to play yamaha's pianos all the time and think they are better than Roland's. Also, no organ sounds, which is a disappointment since I play some organ parts for my band. This board does generate some great back up vocals, though, with great functions like auto harmony and auto note. All in all, a great unique board that will make you stand out amongst us keyboardists for sure. The 2 things that hold this board back are the unique-ness and the price tag. While the vocal stuff are great, the rest are just ok, but then it's not a jack-of-all-trades like alesis fusion (which I also own), and it's not aiming to be one. One can of course pair it up with another board (the fusion is a great choice), but here comes the second problem: the price tag. $2,000 for this is pretty outrageous, I only got this board because I got offered a very special price. If you have extra money to spare, get the v-synth gt instead which also includes the vocal designer section (but probably less in-depth and advanced)
