Hybrid
Hybrid is a premium RTAS software synthesizer for Pro Tools systems that combines the warmth of legendary analog synths from the '70s with a full range of 21st-century analog and digital capabilities. The result is the best of both worlds - a virtual instrument with a comprehensive set of precisely adjustable parameters that can sound like the synths you remember or like something no one has ever heard before.

Strike
The antithesis of a drum looping tool, Strike is an intelligent RTAS instrument that simulates a real, skilled drummer with a well-miked kit in a great-sounding room. Using proprietary technology, Strike lets you produce nuanced performances with a precision that easily eclipses conventional sampling and MIDI applications. Strike offers unprecedented realism, control, and playability for computer-based drum track creation.

Structure
Digidesign's A.I.R. division has been busy. Last year saw the birth of a stunning virtual drummer, a pair of very impressive synthesizers, and a spot-on replication of classic electric pianos from the early years of rock n' roll and R&B. Now, A.I.R. shakes things up with Structure, the first professional RTAS sampler designed and optimized specifically for Pro Tools. Structure boasts a 128-patch multi-timbral universal sound engine with support for up to 8-channel interleaved samples with sample playback available via RAM or disk streaming. To get you started, Structure ships with a sample library from East West, plus Structure supports drag-and-drop sample import within Pro Tools.

Velvet
Digidesign's A.I.R. division wowed us earlier this year with the synth powerhouse Hybrid, and now they give us Velvet. Velvet faithfully reproduces the sound and feel of classic Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos and packages it nicely in an easy-to-use graphic interface. There are over 100 presets included, plus sounds can easily be tweaked with controls for overall timbre, dynamic response, and velocity curve of each model for a range of classic and contemporary electric piano sounds. Velvet gives you a ton of built-in processors to tailor the sound to your desires with a preamp featuring tube overdrive, compression, and 3-band EQ, along with distortion, wah/filter, modulation, and Echoplex delay. The electric piano was instrumental to the sound of rock n' roll in the '50s and '60s, and Velvet puts it in the hands of Pro Tools users at a fraction of the cost of a vintage Wurlitzer or Rhodes.

Xpand!
Xpand!, developed by the Digidesign Advanced Instrument Research group, provides fast, efficient ways to access and manipulate thousands of high-quality sounds directly from within your Pro Tools system. Built for songwriters, film composers, DJs, electronic musicians, and music producers, Xpand! is a sonic powerhouse that will become an indispensable component of your creative Pro Tools environment.
