A Solid-body Marvel with Single-coils AND Humbucker!
Valley Arts was founded in North Hollywood in the early 1970's by guitarists Mike McGuire and Al Carness. Through retail, repair, teaching, and custom manufacturing services, they built a clientele that included virtually every important guitarist in Los Angeles. Although they left the business in 1993, both were working for Gibson when Gibson acquired Valley Arts in 2002. McGuire is currently operations manager for the Gibson Custom Shop and Carness is the Valley Arts product specialist. Inside the new Valley Arts building in Nashville, the spirit of the original Valley Arts continues.

The Valley Arts Custom Pro guitar is hand-crafted, using only the finest materials available. Painstaking attention to detail in every phase of construction allows for an instrument of unparalleled beauty and playability. The Custom Pro features a quilt maple top over an alder body, and a mahogany neck which, when paired with the Duncan Alnico II Pro Humbucker pickup, provides thick, chunky chords. Yet with the Duncan single-coil pickups, the Custom Pro can deliver plenty of twang. From the Wilkinson tailpiece to the Gotoh locking tuners, the Custom Pro says "Play Me!"

Beautiful Piece of Art, Playable and Exudes Tone!
by guybo from Pasadena, CA, January 22, 2008
Music Background:  Player, Worship Leader, Collector

“I purchased a used fireburst version of this beauty and haven't been able to put it down! It is a piece of art with tone. The birdeye neck is stunning, thick, and smoothing coaxing SRV blues licks. Partnered with a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue, it sings with bell-like tube clarity in the clean channel. This guitar is precise, articulates each note. I also have a vintage 70's Les Paul, Vaughan...” Read More
