I just bought the Xpander so I can use my plugs on the road.

by Shane from Indiana, April 2008

Ok, I've used Waves bundles foreeevvver. I went from platinum, and now use mercury. I used to think, wow all this money was spent on so many great plugins. WOW, could I have been more wrong? I got the UAD Project Pack, and omg these things sound like GOLD. I'm getting more cards in the near future, and will use them exclusively!! The UAD plugins are the most transparent, best sounding, and actually USEFUL plugins I've ever used. If you are on the verge....you will NOT be disappointed...buy em now!!
Great sounding plugins!

I've just started using the UAD-1 card and plugins, but I can hear a big difference already! Whether you need refinement on an individual track, or polish to your master, UAD-1 is a must have!
Everybody keep asking what's the secret!

I've been using the UAD-1 (one card) since 3 years and since then all my mix and mastering has been used in hundred of compilations, commercial CDs and music libraries. I've found no plugin that sounds like this one! I advice every producer to buy this card, it worth every cent.
1 for mixing, 2 for mastering

I had read reviews comparing the UAD-1 to the PowerCore and users consistently stated that you get UAD for the compressors and eq's and the PowerCore for the reverbs (if you want System 6000 style reverbs). I must say that the compressors are completely transparent (I love the 1176LN) and the eq's ... those Neve eq's make me feel like I'm back in a big studio with a Flying Faders console. The Pultec eq's can bring life to dull tracks and the reverbs are VERY usable if you know how to tweak them.
I purchased and Ultra Pak and am now getting a Project Pak for added dsp, as running the Precision Equalizer and Precision Limiter during mastering sometimes maxes out my card, even with no other plug-ins. Believe me, that Precision EQ is so transparent and so is the limiter. I'm already running an outboard t.c. electronic Finalizer Plus as my multi-band compressor, so I have not had the need for the Precision Multiband.
UAD1
by Luigie Gonzalez (LEX production team) from W.Hollywood, CA, August 2005
I've been using the UAD1 card for about two years now. I've cut many albums and hit remixes using only one card. I gotta say that after using pro-tools and many other systems, UAD1 is the best sounding and reliable DSP package available right now. I'm planning to upgrade to a total of three cards by December after getting my new system working.
UAD-1 project pack

These cards are worth every cent. However, everybody interested in buying the project pack should know that it comes with a lesser version of the 1176(SE), as opposed to () and (LN). Also, no LA2A,etc. I've heard that all the cards are the same though. So if you have multiple cards, use the software from one to run all!
