Customer Reviewsfrom Denton, TX USA January 9, 2012 Stage Micsgreat at picking up sound from our live action on stage in Kids Worshiopfrom California December 17, 2011 Music Background: Engineer Decent quality for the price.I recently purchased for an outdoor event and thought it was a bit sensitive in the low frequencies due to the feedback I was running into.Even with the low cut engaged I could not control the low mids this mic was picking up on. The speakers were placed 180 degrees away from the front of the mic about 30 feet away. For cardioid they seemed pretty sensitive. I then decided to hang them in out Performing Arts room and feel they are working out well as recording mics, not sound reinforcement. They are about 15 feet above the stage and is pretty sensitive for cardioid. Percussive, transient sounds and instruments tend to make this mic react in a different way. SPL's have a lot to do with this but I found that Xylophones were causing the exact same problem I was having in the outdoor installation. I would say around 250 hz really made this mic responsive. Dial it away and it seem to pick up the vocals from the singers much better. I used a Mackie with VLZ3 and these mics were near silent. I think for recording I will go with more of an omni instead of cardioid. The cardioid did provide some good separation since I was using 2 of them for a clean clear stereo image. I mounted them together and at 90 degrees from each other. Definitely good mics for this sort of thing for the money.
