From Our Research Team:

Stunning bass synthesis!

Trilogy is a brand new type of software plug-in instrument that integrates a custom three gigabyte core library of more than one thousand brand new Bass sounds, with a powerful user interface for creating your own unique patches. Trilogy can be used as a native plug-in instrument in hosts like Logic, Digital Performer, Cubase VST, Nuendo and Pro-Tools no sampler is necessary!

The real power of Trilogy lies within its layering concept. Beyond the core library of a thousand Basses, every patch in Trilogy has two layers that you can tweak individually. You can also immediately mix and match any of the layers in the core library together, and edit each one independently. Imagine the power of combining the sound of a real Minimoog™ with a Fretless bass, or a Virus™ with a TB-303™, or mixing the Microphone and Pickup channels of the Acoustic Bass right on the interface, or even combine the Upright with a sub-oscillator! There are over a million earthshaking combinations, and you'll never run out of options.

Trilogy is also one of the most powerful Bass Synthesizers ever made. In addition to gigabytes of high-resolution sampled vintage synth waveforms, and thick multimode resonant filters for each layer, Trilogy has the rare feature of analog synth-style Legato triggering and Glide that no other software samplers have. This capability allows for Synth Bass sounds that actually play like a vintage analog synth. This feature can also be used with any of the Electric or Acoustic Basses, for unique hybrid sounds. The enormous creative power of the Zone editing feature allows entirely different synth parameters for each key - all by simply touching the key and moving the faders!

Brand new recording sessions with top LA bassists provide the huge collection of multisampled Electric and Acoustic Basses within Trilogy. An innovative new technique we call 'True Staccato' sampling lets you play repeated notes on the basses in real-time with a whole new level of realism. Detailed articulations like glisses, hammer-ons, harmonics, trills, x-notes, noises and slides of varying speeds are included, as well as a comprehesive variety of instruments and playing styles

Pure Bass - Fat. Squelchy. Big. Dark n Dangerous

What an amazing bass module!!! I bought this mainly for the acoustic and synth basses. If you don't have a moog or an obi synth around, this is the best alternative bass synth. The sounds fit very wel... read more [+]l into the mix with very little eq needed. The basses are huge, especially the synth section. The 2 layers approach is pure genious, just like Atmosphere, another favourite of mine. I love layering different basses or taking a raw waveform and layering it with another preset from the synth section. I have a lifetime of bass sounds to tweak and use in my creations, more than any other synth offering. I love the lfo / wheel lfo sync, and the filters are amazing. the solo mode is great for playing the thousands of bass patches as leads. Take a moog bass tone and up the octave by one or two, and you have an instant classic moog lead line to play and modulate with lfo or filter, etc. Making techno synth sounds is also quite a well kept secret with this synth. Think of that detuned hip hop lead sound, yep the Trilogy synth allows you to create many of those type of sounds too. Plenty of Virus type basses for trance and techno too. Trilogy has many sawtooth waveforms for those big dance sounds, combined with envelopes and filters - instant Virus land. close [-]

AUTHENTIC BASS SOUNDS!

Great bass samples with a LOT of performance nuances! If you're looking for bass samples, especially electric, that sit well in a track Trilogy has tons. What I like the most about this program are ... read more [+]the idiomatic pops, slides and fret noises you can add that really make the track come alive. There are also some great variations within each program. A lot of synth bass patches too and all sounds can be edited to suite your taste. If you're looking for a complete bass "package" in my opinion, this is the one! close [-]

All you need for bass sounds

I work mostly with independent gospel artists, so of course i have limited budgets and have to be choosy with which live instruments i can have. I tend to do my own bass lines, and with Trilogy, i hav... read more [+]e everything i need. I have used the synth basses, upright basses, and 5 and 6 string basses on several projects in the last 16 months, and they are all very realistic. i am 100% satisfied with Trilogy. close [-]

WTF Spectrasonics?!?!

by Scot from Hollywood
October 1, 2008
Music Background: Pro Musician/Producer
It is shocking to me despite the HUGE popularity of this software that Spectrasonics, although quick to point out their commitment to Intel Macs, have STILL not updated this plug-in. It was annoying ... read more [+]enough to have to install from the 5 CDs, having never offered the software on a single DVD. And when it failed to knit the parts together, having to re-install it. And I'm aware there is a wrapper, but it is shaky at best.

I would love to own Omnisphere, but I'm not buying another program until they correct this long festering problem.

Otherwise, the bass sounds are great. close [-]
