The best thing for under $200
by Happy Customer from Richland, WA, February 2007
Music Background: Artist and Studio Owner
I was very skeptical in the beginning. Everytime I have bought an inexpensive product I am usually very disappointed and end up buying a different product. This device however has been a miracle worker for me in the studio. I use it in my vocal booth when I am recording myself. I have nothing but good things to say about this product.
Yes, it's as good as they say

At risk of being redundant, since all the previous reviews were so positive, I'll add one more vote for 5-star status for this product.
I bought a little 12" side-boom to attach the Tranzport to my mic stand, which works well and avoids the clutter of another stand. Now, when I'm singing in the vocal booth I have convenient remote control right there in front of me. Too cool. The mic stand mount is surprisingly solid.
Have No Fear

Works as promised. Have no fear. It's easy and incredibly helpful if you compose---particularly if you play drums. I was skeptical. 10 meters is the limit. No wishful thinkers--measure before you buy. Love it
A must have for any project studio
by Torbell from Skien, Norway, Europe, September 2006

I connected it to my mac, installed the software and it just popped up in cubase like it should. No fuzz at all. It should´nt be like this, but I am amazed about stuff that just works right out of the box.
It responds like it should, and though the display is a bit small, it gives you enough information to keep track of what you´re doing. I used to bring my bluetooth keyboard into the recording room, but I always got lost. Now I dont. This is a must for all project-studio owners who like to record themselves. I wish it was easyer to controll monitoormix with this thing, but no box does it all! So If you are a singer or musician playing acoustic, this box helps you to record yuorself as easy as pie!
Transport in the Studio.

WOW!!!!!!! Every I like to update my studio. This year I parted way's with my Tascam 428 mixer and purched the TranzPort. That in conjuction with my firepod and my Bfc2000 automated mixing board is A winning combonation for me. I can use the TranzPort in the tracking room, the vocal booth just as you use it in the control room. Who would have thought that you could get so much control over all your recording prosses's in a package half the size of a VHS cassette. The TranzPort helps me in any type of recording session, by allowing me to do my job faster and easy'er. And lets not foget its small foot prient on the desk. I guess you could say that the TranzPort is as the heart is to the humen body...the center of all things happing. Thank you Sweetwater for carring a product like this.
TranzPort

Frontier Designs technical support was excellent in promptly helping me fix my installation problems. I'm currently using v1.2.1 and the 1.2.4 Sonar plugin. This device works flawlessly with Sonar PE 4. Very useful device if you're the engineer/musician/singer/head dishwasher such as I am. It's nice to be able to stand and track guitar/bass or vox tracks w/o having to run back and forth to the control desk. You can arm to record, mute, solo, undo, etc. while standing. It's the size of a typical mouse pad. I even use it when mixing and mastering my projects for certain fucntions. Frontier Designs hosts a useful user forum as well. Drivers, manual, overlays, etc. are available at the website. I highly recommend this product.

This is the most useful tool a studio can have. Even if you have a large console, it makes sense. You can free yourself from behind the board and get behind the mic and make the magic happen!!

Very useful gadget. Makes recording your material by yourself a breeze anywhere.
Does suffer from range problems, however, depending on your setup. Sometimes I cannot go further than 10 ft without losing the signal connection.

This is the most useful item I have ever had the privilege to come across. What took so long? It has turned the tedious tasks into small, efficient one button presses. it is equally at home with cubase or dp. All thumbs way up!
