Fender Custom Telecaster Spalted Maple HH Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • A unique take on the Tele
  • Dual Humbucker™ pickup power

A unique take on the Tele
While the usual take on a Fender Telecaster involves ash or alder bodies, bolt-on maple necks, and single-coil twang, a real maverick comes along every now and then. Introducing the Custom Telecaster Spalted Maple HH, which sports a stunning spalted maple top, a carved mahogany body, a set mahogany neck (with a slim, comfortable C shape, to boot), and a rosewood fingerboard with beautiful oversized abalone dot inlays. It's got that classic Tele® profile, but this Telecaster is a definite step away from the expected. Whether you're a Tele enthusiast or just appreciate the look, feel, and sound of a beautiful, well-built solidbody electric guitar, you'll love this one.

Dual humbucker pickup power
The Fender Custom Telecaster Spalted Maple HH is loaded with two great-sounding Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups, for a great range of tones. A SHPGP-1B Pearly Gates Plus humbucker sits in the bridge position, while the neck spot sports a Seymour Duncan SH-1N RP '59 reverse polarity Humbucker™. You can shape your tones with master volume knob, a tone control with a push/pull coil tap, and a three-way pickup selector switch. Add these goodies to the Custom Telecaster Spalted Maple HH's maple top/mahogany body and neck tonewoods, and you've got one big-sounding Tele®.

Best Gig Guitar Ever!

by Don McDevitt from Philadelphia, PA

This guitar is well made, light weight, versatile and good looking. The option of hum buckers or single coils make it a great gig guitar or for someone that wants a wide pallet of sounds from one ins... read more [+]trument. I saw some reviews complaining about the hardware not being first class, considering the cost, the hardware is in line with other manufacturers. You can always upgrade the hardware later and I may do that at some point. The fret board is fairly flat with a 15 inch radius, make sure your OK with that, before you buy. close [-]

love at first sight

made in indonesia, if it was made in america it would cost 3 to 4 times more.the body and neck aren't as thick .the top is CARVED. the way the neck joins the body is a dream come true when you play( a... read more [+] set neck). the jumbo frets & the thinner neck make it feel like a guitar with power steering when you play. the pick-ups are dynamite. the bridge(pearly gates) pick-up is pretty HOT. I took a screw driver & raised the pole pieces closer to the strings on the bridge pick-up, it's sounds close to a lap- steel pick-up now. the tone control & pick-up switch gets good clear sounds. the volume control is close enough to the strings to either get in the way sometimes or do easy volume roll offs. this isn't a regular-sounding tele.think zz top/albert collins. the tuners & bridge look weak. i just tightened the bushings on the top of the tuners & i tightened the bridge plate. the tone control wiggles because the coil tap pot is there. it would work for me if there wasn't a coil-tap. this is a really good looking guitar. close [-]

An Awesome And Versatile Guitar!

This guitar is excellent. I used to be a Les Paul fan until I got one of these. Now this is my go to guitar. I can get Les Paul chunk and Fender twang out of the same guitar. Also, it is much lighter ... read more [+]than a Les Paul. Im all for made in America, but the build quality and playability of this guitar smokes the American Strat I had. I also get tons of comments on the look and tone of this Tele. I can't say enough good things about this one. Fender got it right with this. close [-]

Fender Spalted Maple Guitar

When I first saw the guitar that came to my house I was elated. It is such a beautiful guitar. I changed the strings to 10's and the took it to my local guitar guru to have intonation re- adjusted and... read more [+] inspected.
I still have some problems with the "G" string staying in tune but it's not as bad as when I first got it. The only other problem I had were the string trees were loose and had to do a minor repair for them to tighten. Now to the sound and playability. This guitar sounds great and is easy to play. It has lots of sustain. The way the pick-ups are wired give you a lot of options with different sounds. It is money well spent. close [-]

Great guitar with some upgrades

Pro's - beautiful and no flaws. SD pickups provide a wide tonal range coupled with the coil splitting capability. Very comfortable neck and great sustain. Like the neck design versus a bolt on neck. I... read more [+]t is light and feels good with great balance.
Con's - do not like the hard tail bridge. When you lower the action the adjustment screws protrude out from the bridge and are a bit uncomfortable so I will replace the bridge soon. Did not like the tuners and replaced with Fender/Schaller locking tuners.

This is a good guitar and with a few additions will be a great guitar. close [-]
