HIGHWAY 1 TELECASTER DESCRIPTION

Play The American Dream!
You'll take to the newly "repaved" Highway 1 Telecaster® with its thin-skinned satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that lets the natural tone of the body wood shine through, hotter and very distortion-friendly Alnico III pickups that produce a rounder sound but still feature that trademark FENDER® sparkle. Other improvements include super-sized jumbo frets for faster action, bold '70s styling, and exciting new colors. To top it all off, the Highway 1 Telecaster comes with a deluxe gig bag.

Fender Highway 1 Telecaster at a Glance:
  • Solid alder body with satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish
  • 2 Hot Tele® Single-coil Pickups with Alnico-3 Magnets
  • One-piece maple neck and fingerboard with modern "C" shape.

Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish for Extra Resonance
Players demanded it and Fender delivered it! This Highway comes with a satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, which is usually found on high-end guitars. The satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the alder body to resonate freely, delivering crisp, glossy tones and maximum sustain thanks to the two hot single-coil Alnico III Tele pickups. A three-ply white pickguard maintains the classic Tele look. Factor in a mind-blowing low price tag, and you've got one of the most in-demand Teles in the entire Fender catalog.

Alnico III for Vintage Fender Tone
The new Highway 1 Telecaster now features 2 Hot Tele Single-coil Pickups with Alnico-3 Magnets in the neck and bridge position. Alnico IIIs were the magnets used in original Fender pickups from the early '50s (Alnico stands for the basic composition of the magnet: aluminum, nickel, and cobalt). If you are looking for an authentic vintage Fender tone, a pickup with Alnico IIIs will certainly do the job - and the modern ones found in the Highway 1 Teles are better than ever. They give you a round sound combined with classic tele sparkle - and speaking of sparkle, they also shine when it comes to high-gain sounds.

Fast Playing Maple Neck with Modern "C" Shape
Leo Fender wasn't afraid to "think outside the box" when it came to guitar designs - after all, he was an engineer, not a guitar player. In the 1950s and well into the 1970s, the blond natural maple neck became almost synonymous with Fender guitars. The Highway 1 Tele carries on the tradition with a fast-playing one-piece maple neck and fingerboard. In keeping with contemporary player preferences, the neck is finished in a smooth satin polyurethane.

USA Made to be played TELE

Music Background:  40 years Playing-recording Classic Rock & Blues

“USA flawless craftsmanship, beautiful sunburst paint job, fast very smooth playing maple neck due to the jumbo frets that most guitars do not have, they also make it easier for bending strings. Nitro-cellulose finish brings out tone and sustain from the wood more than poly urethane, but the only thing I don't like is the satin-matte finish & white pickguard. I put on a brown shell pickguard and...” Read More
