So nice in fact that I that I find myself playing this guitar more than the others. The things I don't like, not much, the tone knob is very limited and abruptly changes at about 8, and there was an indent in the finish, (not damage). But it has the cutaway on the back, and personally i thought the Red with the Rosewood fretboard had a more expensive look to it. Adjusting the pickup height, you can really tweak the tones. close [-]

I received my candy apple red Fender Blacktop Telecaster HH yesterday, and I have hardly been able to put it down. It's beautiful; it plays very well right out of the cardboard box; already in tune. I... read more [+]'ve played the 8 songs I know over and over! The sound from the two humbuckers is intoxicating to me... the finish on the body and neck is excellent - the only thing wrong, which is MINOR, was a misaligned volume control which I fixed with no problem by loosening set screw, adjusting, and resetting the screw. The plastic protection over the pickguard had some gouge marks on it, but they don't go thru to the pickguard itself, and will be gone when I peel the plastic away. These are minor things - and the value is just excellent for this guitar. If I could find a sky blue one, I'd buy another one of these before the inevitable price increase, as this guitar is more than worth what it costs now. I could almost give it a 5 rating, but I'm no music expert and it did have the two minor things that QUALITY CONTROL should have caught. But this is probably the best guitar of its type for the money out there right now... heck, buy one, I don't think you'll be unhappy - you can sure make some music with it! And it looks good, too... close [-]

Neck is good, however fret finish is only just free of sharp edges, several catches you can feel, Gives the impression of time constraints during production. Through body bridge would be good, metal seems soft and shows marks easily from adjustment, screw heads prone to burring. placement is off to the extent that low e required removing spring to correctly adjust intonation. tone control works, volume is nothing much up to 7 but after that, it's ok. lots of harmonics and sustain, makes me feel that the buckers really don't suit this instrument, I favor split and bright but there's plenty of range. overall, I'm happy with the blacktop, looks great, good deal for the price close [-] Also popular
