As a music producer working on a wide variety of music I'm thrilled to have picked this up. I've been interested in a baritone for quite some time, and finally got around to it - I'm glad i did. The b... read more [+]aritone is a wonderfully versatile instrument that can go from deep dark heavy metal, to psychedelic space-out, to country, to pop, funk, jazz, and so on. It has a weight to its sound that is really solid, and higher notes ring out with a tone that simply can't be easily matched on a normal guitar.September 13, 2012 Music Background: Professional Full Time Music Producer & Engineer What led me to pick this particular guitar was that I felt it was one of the better overall values - good looking, good brand, good features, and of course good sound. The fit and finish are perfect, it may be MIM but the quality of the body and neck do not lag far behind American made models. The action is good, while the heavier string gauge takes a little getting used to, the action is nice. The electronics are good - the middle pickup and 5 way switch give a very good range of options. I'm often very critical of bridge pickups, but this one sounds pretty decent. They don't stack up to my custom made harmonic designs pickups but for a stock option on a relatively inexpensive guitar, they are very respectable. the tuners could probably be a bit better, and it would have been a nice touch to offer a push/pull pot to split the humbucker into a single coil, but of course those are both relatively easy mods to do later if you like. For the price though, I don't find any real shortcomings in the guitar, and while I will probably make a few upgrades to it at some point, it plays and sounds nice right out of the box. If you are looking for a super-sparkling tele spank, this is only going to get you part way there due to the low tuning, bridge style, and pickup choices. It has a little tele spank, but its not so much of a specialist as it is a jack-of-all-trades, meat & potatoes kind of guitar that will provide you endless possibilities in a wide range of settings close [-] not what I expectec
