nice tuner, terrible value

the truth about electric tuners is that there is no signifigant difference between most lower and higher end models. the technology used in every LCD tuner is so simple that there's not much room for improvement; a well made twenty dollar model and a well made hundred dollar model will tune your guitar with the same degree of accuracy.

that said, only reason this tuner costs eighty dollars is because of the extraneous features. the only time these features are useful is when you're setting up a guitar, which honestly requires a tuner with more accuracy than this one anyway.

on the plus side, the LCD readout has marks for every cent and uses an actual needle. unfortunately, a precise LCD is useless when the tuner suffers from all of the same problems of needle instability and clumsiness that plauge all electric tuners, but it seems that the TU-15 still does a better job than most. as far as LCD tuners go it's one of the best, but for the price you may as well step up to a strobe tuner, and enjoy at least some improvement in accuracy for all the money you're spending.
