Imagine taking a pristine Pro Tools Mix. You've spent months tweaking the thing and it sounds PERFECT and CLEAN. Too bad its a rock band, and the last thing they want is to sound POLISHED. Run ... read more [+]it thru this guy and you will turn on the dirt. Its ballsy. Its swishy. Its anything but clean. But on heavy rock mixes, I always reach for this guy. I've used it since its standalone days in OS9. (And they finally moved it to OSX now...). I actually like the standalone better. I swear it sounds better. As a plugin its a little squirrely, but its still manageable. The compressor is fantastic. And the output stage alone is worth the price. Its not a "ONLY PLUG YOU'LL EVER NEED" thing. But if all you have is an L2 or Ox Inflator, get T-Racks. You'll need something to complement that cold digital sound. Is it comparable to McDsp Analog Channel? Not really. Analog Channel is definitely more of an emulation of stuff from the 60s-80s that engineers are familiar with. While T-Racks is sort of a musical instrument. That is, use T-racks to dial in (or out) the desired amount of "warmth" to your DAW mixes. My 2 cents...... close [-]
