Make your Korg TRITON drum tracks come to life with the Drum Hits & Ambience CD-ROM! This special collection for the TRITON series uses great drums recorded in a great space! Sampled in the UK's famous Surrey Sound Room (where the Police, Radiohead, Eric Clapton, and Simple Minds have recorded), Drum Hits & Ambience offers two full drum kits, each one featuring five different stereo ambience options. Drum Hits & Ambience gives you complete control over the mix between the original hit and the ambience, and you can even set each drum individually. Korg Drum Hits & Ambience CD-ROM at a Glance:

Great sounds from a classic Ludwig and a modern Yamaha kit Drum Hits & Ambience contains two kits, a vintage Ludwig with Black Beauty Snare and a newer Yamaha with Pearl Brass Snare. Zildian and Paiste hi-hats, crashes and rides are included respectively. The two kits are available in five different ambient options: Dry, Medium Ambience, Large Ambience, Compressed Large Ambience and Booth. Dry hits are mainly mono except where each instrument has a stereo perspective, as with cymbals. Ambience is always in stereo. How does it work? On Drum Hits & Ambience, one instrument is made of one dry program plus one ambience program. Both are triggered via the same MIDI note. All you do is adjust the blend between the two programs to tune the ambience level to suit your music. Plus, you can adjust each instrument's - and indeed each sample's - ambience level separately to achieve exactly the sound you want.. Drum Hits & Ambience's dry samples are close-miked recordings of the kits in the large room. Simply choose your Dry Kit from within the Dry Kits folder and load the selected PCG, (use the TRITON's "load Selected" method). Dry Kits are used as the basis to which all Ambience options are added. The following choices are available:

• Ludwig + Damped Snare option Dry Kit
• Ludwig Dry Booth Kit
• Yamaha Dry Kit
• Yamaha + Piccolo Snare option Dry Kit

Dry Booth Kits are designed to work by themselves. These samples are dry close-miked recordings in a small booth within the studio. Ambience options Drum Hits & Ambience offers three Ambience options for each of the above kits. These options are:

• Medium Ambience - recordings from two B& K 4007 mics positioned about 1.5 meters from the source
• Large Ambience - recordings from two Neumann U87 mics positioned 8 meters from the source
• Compressed Large Ambience

The Ambience PCGs are to be loaded using the new "Load PCG (RAM)" option featured in TRITON Classic V2.5.0, TRITON Le/Rack V1.50, and the TRITON Studio V2.0 Operating Systems. An ambience PCG contains two programs, a drum kit, a mulitsample and a Combi. The multisample contains stereo drum ambience samples. The drum kit contains hi-hat ambience. The Combi brings together these elements with the DryKit loaded. Lite Ambience options In addition, for TRITON users with limited RAM Korg has included "Lite" options on Drum Hits & Ambience. The same Dry Kits are used, but loading a Lite Ambience option loads a Mono Ambience program which references a single drum kit in preference to the multisample and separate hi-hat programs. There are three Lite Ambience options for each of the above kits. These options are:

• Lite Medium Ambience
• Lite Large Ambience
• Lite Compressed Large Ambience

A Lite Ambience contains a single program, drum kit, Combi and the related samples. Korg Drum Hits & Ambience CD-ROM Features:
